Dusty, hope you are feeling better soon, the colds have been lingering for weeks here too.
Seems my car is poorly, won't start this morningsounds like a lack of compression at the mo, thought it was the timing belt at first but cams seem to be turning ok, something I can't tackle alone, DPs out all day (playing out with his friends and their toy cars, bitter, me, never!) so won't be able to look at it until probably next week, which means today, I'm stuck in. Wouldn't care our spare car is at his brothers which we can't get out as they have put scaffolding down the alley way (he was supposed to be using it but hasn't yet as is out of work) so as he's out with his car I'm stuck in anyway. I can see my new year being an expensive one.....At least we took DPs car to York, it could have happened there, then I'd have been angry!
I wasn't planning on going far, just to the shop, so will make me see if I can make do with what I have, the coop is open in case of emergencies but will test me I suppose, I probably would have spent for the heck of it when I only wanted a few bits. I wonder if DHL will redeliver my parcel for me. I don't go out new year, no childcare and DP at work so would be unfair for me to go out enjoying myself so usual quiet evening of reflection and planning for me
So what shall I do for the rest of the day, probably should sort the house out really shouldn't Iwell some of it ***plods back through to find the list***
One day I might be more organised...........

Well, I got my ironing finished, then went and did 2 loads of washing which is now hanging in utility, drying. Couldn't possibly wash tomorrow..old wives tale says "Wash New Years Day---wash one of the family away! " . Not that I'm superstitious you understand ..but "just in case, I won't tempt fate!"
I made cauli & stilton soup for lunch, which was yummy, and also made the bread rolls to go with it.
We will be having 'Piggly Pie' for our evening meal. The filling is made from anything, and everything from a pig. I cut up and froze the bits of ham, pork, sausage & stuffing that was left over from Christmas...made a gravy, adding a splash of cider, and cut up into it an apple and an onion. Pastry crust on the top and Hey Presto !! a lovely homemade meal.
But all of this takes time, so needless to say, I've noy done much else around the house other that usual 'dailies'
Going off to the Cinema soon to see 'Australia'. We've got Orange Wednesday 2 for 1 ticket, and 'senior citizens discount. So it only costs a £5 for the 2 of us ...taking some Christmas sweets with us to munch..so a cheap evening out.
Hope you all have a nice evening....no washing tomorrow remember!!.
