  • My spd is quite bad today. It didn't help yesterday, some utter @rsehole parked right next to my car, driver side. So I had to get in the passenger seat & go across. Oh the pain. Made me cry. So I am suffering today.

OMG... you poor poor thing!!!! That's so bad. I'm wincing at the thought.

Think I've lost a post.... so before I go looking for it, I'll quickly post this one.

JayJay - I think I would have done the same as long as it was me that swallowed it - I wouldn't if someone else had swallowed it! Oh, and did you know you can get crown gluing back on kits at chemists?
    Happy anniversay msgnomey
Valli - your nectarines sound gorgeous!
And Greenbee - you were right - the recipe title said fennel but when I actually looked at the ingredients, it's fennel seeds... And thanks for the tip about other sites - I'll do that later.

successful foray to M&S so spend my vouchers. Bought a pair of trousers for work and a winter coat. The only coat I had was a waxed cotton jacket thing which wasn't particularly warm so I've bought a winter duffle coat type thing which will keep me snug.

I've also bought LOADS of pork belly and a joint of pork from Mr. T's to make sausages with. Mr T's car park is a nightmare at the best of times. They were queuing to get in and out so I ended up parking on the garage forecourt! :D

Just having a cuppa then I'm going to start on the sausages...

  • Well, I've almost finished the washing and drying. Just need to vacuum upstairs then DS and GF are doing some dusting for me. OH is home early, so I'm going to get him to wash the kitchen floor while I do the ironing!

DS and I went out to collect a prescription, some cream, fuel up, go to the tip with the cardboard and collect his GF as she was desperate to get away for a while. Her obnoxious brother had been taken to the doctor againbecause he has a cough and he's asthmatic. If he used his inhaler properly like the asthma clinic nurse has told him (according to his mother) then it would be properly controlled anyway, but mother takes him for the slightest thing! Such a waste of resources. Anyway, with a prescription for decongestants, she dropped GF at the chemist and told her to walk home as brother (who will be 9 in January) was screaming and she didn't want to sit waiting in the car with him. It's about half a mile from the chemist, it was -1 degrees at the time, GF has ME and is in receipt of DLA for mobility issues.

    Off to finish the housework!

They look gorgeous (and are easy to do, really - fab dinner party dessert) - loads of variations on the basic recipe - as I said I add brandy - which I borrowed from my mum holiday Metaxa - following a recipe in my Italian cookbook. I am trying VERY VERY hard not to sample them..

So much for the list, nearly fell asleep on the sofa and realised OH must actually be ill this time (unlike Monday when it really was £80 wages lost for the sake of a hangover!) as I am coming down with it too, can feel sore throat coming and all achy, etc.
Not best pleased as I am the one who does not get ill, one or both of the boys have been ill for what feels like months now and OH too, I CANNOT BE ILL!
Won't be out tonight, went out last Saturday and had Christmas night off ao will be a quiet night in with Baileys, if I make it to Midnight.
There is no food in the house (I mean nothing I can make dinner out of) and OH is too ill to empty the car of lawnmowers etc and take me to the supermarket so I guess we're all having beans on toast for dinner. Though OH could eat the lunch I made him for work today! (Me not bitter either, honest!)
DS2 sleeping and DS1 playing happily so may lock myself in the kitchen for sneaky cigarette (I know, I know) and then go sort out a bit of the bedroom - there is floor in there, I know it.

I'm sure I'll be back on later but if not

    Happy New Year to all.

Oh dear! Nothing done yet on housework front, although was really busy yesterday and we're quite presentable for guests tonight! have handed over school keys today, so am now officially retired I guess! Feels very odd to think someone else is now in charge and I'm not going to be going back next week.... Still, onwards and upwards - and more time to get to grips with housework in future, and indeed all things OS. Before I get started on meal prep, just wanted to wish everyone on here a very happy and peaceful New Year.

  • SSSupergirl glad to be of assistance!! Are you feeling better today - remember the budget when you go shopping!!!!

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT HOGMANAY!!!

I did lose my post then...so I'll start again, a bit at a time this time tho!!

Thanks Toots, but no, not really, The children are driving me bonkers, unless I'm being 'Foul Mummy' But that requires emergy and commitment to the cause, which I don't have right now. My throat is sore, and my cough is dry and irritating... *moan, moan, moan* Ahh well DH is off thurs and fri, so that'll ease the load a bit.

Hope you have a smashing evening whatever you're doing.... not ironing I hope :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
