We got last week a letter from abby, basicly assusing us of money laundering and wasnted to verify our identiry and our nationality.newfoundglory wrote:I've had BACS payments take much longer then the usual 3/4 days0 -
You weren't accused of money laundering, just asked for proof of ID. Our head office do occasionally do spot checks on us, to make sure we've been following the regs correctly.
Well what annoyed us that we provided the proper identification awhen we opened the a/c, only to be told when my partner went into the branch that they forgot to send the doc's off. Therefore it is "Abbey's" fault, as before mentioned when they wrote to us, some of the letter and information was not printed on official letter headed paper. I presume you work for Abbey, so yes i do understand about obtaining/verifying proofs of identifaction as i used to work for a major mortgage lender, and a large part of my job was dealing with customers ID proofs and ensuing they were passed to the correct team and ensuring the safe return (worked in HQ) but once the fixed term a/c ends i would not touch Abbey with a amazingly long barge pole!!!!!:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

I'm sorry to single you out, but by this statement you are clearly a liar.
I wish I were. Unfortunately, I am not. It did happen only once though.
I dont know how you can make the assumption I am liar - you clearly have no idea what you are talking about..... there are any number of reasons why it would take longer..... for example Abbey not putting it into the clearing system on the correct date...0 -
That's not funny - DNA = National Dyslexics Association
How does that work? Shouldn't it be NDA? Which wouldn't even make a joke to be honest.
Well, if I haven't made you laugh, at least I've educated you a little. One of the symptoms:
"Letter order - Dyslexics may also reverse the order of two letters" (from Wikipedia). However, as with many jokes, the one I posted is a slight play on reality. The symptom sentence goes on to say, "...especially when the final, incorrect, word looks similar to the intended word (e.g., spelling "dose" instead of "does")."
No offense intended to the OP, and my advice is avoid Abbey, as they are carp. Oops, there goes my dyslexia again.
