You seem to take it personally, dunstonh.
I find posters picking on spelling of other posters a bit childlish myself....
I didnt like the fact that the OP thought it was fair game to be critical about someone based on how they looked. I wouldnt normally pick up on spelling but if you are going to be rude like that then its fair game for people to be critical back.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I'd love to know how a five letter name becomes four letters long.

Dyslexia isn't an excuse for spelling the name of the bank wrong on the internet. I can understand at work, at school - but during leisure time, when you have a chance to thoroughly proof read and check before you post? No excuses.
Unless of course, it's a classic case of dyslexia being the excuse for laziness, which is also possible. After all, lazy people tend to be judgemental towards other on somewhat spurious grounds. From Poland...with love.

The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

The OP was simply annoyed at the poor service he received and let off some steam. It won't hurt the Abbey representative he was speaking about as that person won't know, and has probably heard worse things said to him/her on that day. Nor do we know the representative in question.
It is far more rude to criticise the OP spelling, as you are directly being rude to someone in the face (so to speak), and he'll know straight away that this is directed at him, so might or might not get upset or hurt.Dyslexia isn't an excuse for spelling the name of the bank wrong on the internet. The idea is to make yourself understand and get help for your problem, not enter a spelling contest.0 -

I did not know that my original post would cause such controversy. FYI PolishBigSpender I do not appreciate you insinuating that i am lazy, i left school with 1 C and i marginally missed out on a 1st, only discovering that i was Dyslexic in my final year of Uni!
You obviously have no idea how Dyslexia affects each individual person,
Spark i thank you for your helpful comments
I did however also forgot to mention that i was mostly annoyed that if they forgot to send off the information, they had more than enough information to steal mine and my partners identities.
To all of you have a wonderful 2009!!!!!!!

All completed applications have to be sent off to head office within 3 days. All applications should have the printed ID form and photocopy of the ID unless the customer was 'EID' (photocopy of id not needed if this is the case).
It appears a small number of requests are made, mostly when applications done by post or internet. Abbey are required by Anti Money Laundering regulations to see certain kinds of ID from a customer before they open an account. It would appear what was needed and why was not properly explained to you. In the main the staff in the branch themselves do a good job it is the people outside the branch (head office depts and telephone distribution) that are the real villians in the piece and really offer the branch very little support.0 -
Just to lighten up the thread a little, and please don't take offence OP...
What does DNA stand for?
National dyslexics association.

That's not funny - DNA = National Dyslexics Association
How does that work? Shouldn't it be NDA? Which wouldn't even make a joke to be honest.0
