Just checked the opening hours of the 5 Mr A's closest to me. Of these I'd normally only use 1 or 2, but the other I use once in a while is the only of the 5 that's open on 1st -- and it's only open Sunday hours (11am-5pm).

Could you please put me down for £124 for January 2009

This is for food shopping for DH and myself and for cleaning products and toiletries. I think it's going to be really hard  but here goes....

Wow that's amazing. I may be a bit dim but how did you make the butter. I have a vague idea but have never tried it. Well done!:T

  • Hello everybody :hello:

I'm a long-time lurker, first-time poster - that's first time EVER - and I am SOOOO excited! Can I join this please? I spend far too much every month, and then end up wasting probably a third of it.

Please put me down for £200 - based on the amounts other posters have put down, as I have no real idea what my monthly spend is. This is for me, DD and the 2 furry children. My month runs from the 19th to the 18th, but I am starting today as I don't even know how much I've spent in only the last 11 days (this is how out-of-control I am!).

Been shopping tonight - spent £49 which seems like a big chunk, I know. But I did get lots of stuff that'll last all month - like oats and lentils (been checking out that storecupboard challenge thread!), squash, suet, flour and cous cous. And got a bag of onions in the whoopsie section for 45p - I've never been in there before so I don't even know if that was a bargain - I really must sort myself out...! Hope I can manage it.

    SO excited! :j

And must figure out this signature business...

I literally just poured a couple of the cartons at a time into my kenwood and let it do the hard work of whisking and lo and behold a few minutes later the buttermilk separated from the cream and blobs of butter were formed. I then squeezed as much of the whey from the butter before forming into pats. I once watched Hugh Fearnley- whats his name, making it with some children just by putting the cream into a jam jar and shaking like mad. The children loved it - but I bet their arms were killing them the next day!!!

    Hi Everyone!!!
We've spent just over £5 of our new budget but have most things in already to cover our meal planning in January. Also used a £5 gift voucher from tesco.
Will be spending M and S vouchers on BOGOFs there and anything which seems good value.
Planning to spend only £70 this month to fit in with our £4K challenge.
    Have a fantastic January everyone!!!
