Not a great start, spent £22.61 in the little tesco as couldn't be bothered to drag the kids accross town to aldi. Didn't get a great deal of food for that either.
On the plus side DH is totally on board with this and is getting as addicted as me, to the point of sitting down and working out the cost of each meal that I make!

    Hi everyone, Happy New Year!

MrsM please can you put me down for my £170 this month.

My month will start this Saturday as I won't be shopping till then hopefully.
I know I've got to try really hard now, after the shambles I made of my last quarter's totals. I don't think I overspent but I did !!!! it up! :o

HI I just wanted to say, I didn't swear on this post honest, I don't know why it put the exclaimation marks there :o

But any road up, I did have to go to Asda today as I was very low on sugar. I've spent £25 and bought
    a loaf of bread
2 jars of Gold Blend (just can't give it up!) £7.00
    a big bag of sugar
    2 'flagons' of milk
a paper (haven't bought one all last week)
    one of those zester thingys
and a big pack of loo roll.
some socks (£5.00) which shouldn't be out of the food buget so I'll pay that back by buying then next 2 flagons of milk out of my pocket money.

I'm over-complicating the way I'm working my budget (which will be different every month!), but for now

please can I go down for £128 for January

this is for food and drinks only

    This is made up of.....

    £1.80 each a day for me and younger DS = £3.60/day * 31 days = £111.60
£1.80 a day for 5 days to cover elder DS being home = £9.00
50p a piece for 3 cooked meals for younger GD (Mon only, term time) = £1.50
20p/day for after school snacks for GDs (M-W for younger one, M-F for elder one) = 28 snacks = £5.60

which actually comes to £127.70, but I'm rounding it up for ease

this could change in the next few days, as I want to explore some options with DD once she's completed her annual budget ;)

Hi everyone. I need to have a serious try at controlling my budget this year if we are to be able to afford our continental holiday in our camper planned for the whole of June. The weak £ against the euro will make it more expensive for the essential fuel, so realy need to tighten belts to save 'diesel money'.
Mrs. M, will you please put me in for £300 for January, although I hope to be able to shave a little off that for February .
Good luck everyone, and I wish you all a Happy, healthy, peaceful, Money Saving New Year.
    Feb. G.C. From Jan 26th £350.00
    First month..pure guess!! Wk. 1 £136.38 balance £213.62. Wk.2 £108.10p balance £105.52

I need to keep my food bill to a minimum
£75 a week for me OH and 2 teenage DD's
that includes food, toiletries, cleaning stuff, milkman, papers and school dinners for DD1.
I hope I can do it, I am determined.
If I can give any advice to the new people this month is:
    GO SHOPPING ALONE!!!! :rotfl:
If DD's or OH come along I end up spending twice as much:rotfl:
my aim this week was not to shop between xmas and new year and so far so good :A
    good luck to everyone
