Count me in for £200. Have a freezer and cupboard full of food so just have to buy milk, bread, fruit and the essentials. Did a freezer check and discovered 50 fishfingers
Aiming to try and cut this further and save some as well if possible. So little money - so much time :mad:0 -
Have no idea how much we spend. So shall guess at £300 a month for 2 adults (who like wine) and 2 children. Great thread.0

Only about a third got eaten and I am debating taking it back to the store because it was so horrible. I have never taken anything back just because we didn't like it but it was soooo expensive and of the six of us on Christmas Day no-one thought it was even remotely nice. It had the texture of cottage cheese rather then smooth cream cheese and it was a really odd taste. Would you return it and what would you say?
I would definitely take it back. Not only was it not nice tasting but consistency was not close to what it should have been. If you bought clothing or an appliance and it was damaged, you'd take that back. To me, there is no difference in this case.
I would think the manager of the store you bought it from would refund the cost with no problem, if only to ensure customer goodwill. I've found over the years it's best to ask for the store manager to start with and not deal with a sales associate.Take the first step.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to use up some irish cream mcvitie bars? - they are basically a sponge topped with flavoured synthetic cream andcovered in choc? i have 2 packs of 6 (given to us) and they're past the best before date, o/h can't stand them and i can't see me munching my way through them in a hurry!
Can they be frozen?Take the first step.

Hi everyone,
Please put me down for
£250
I fell off the wagon during December, but am climbing right back on!:jJane 21120 -
I can't set a budget since I don't buy the bulk of our food - OH does. I just buy bits that I need on top of that. So I have no idea what we spend. But I read this thread every day and join in to pick up ideas and am trying very hard to reduce our grocery spend in general. I'm waiting for the day OH says "gosh we're spending a lot less on groceries lately!".
So can I play too?Wendy x0 -
Crikey went a bit over in Dec but freezer is full of meat and hoping to claw back the overspend in Jan.By the way guess what my kids got me for xmas? A piggybank they spray painted gold as they knew I coveted my own golden piggy!"Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Hi there long-time lurker here. 2009 is my year to shake up my finances!! I started trying at the end of 2008 and can't believe how menu planning helps. My month will run as a calender month as OH and I both get paid monthly but on different days. I reckon it'll all work out in the end
Please put me down for £250 for me, OH, 6 furbabies plus three grandchildren every other weekend. Will include food, wine, cleaning, toiletries and nappies as well as work lunches and takeaways. Good luck to all.
