Happy New Year everyone. xxx
Just a quick question - I've sorted out my cupboard this week, and have some pretty old, unopened stuff in there.
How long do you reckon it's ok to keep unopened stuff for? 12 months? 2 years? longer.

Hi everyone,
I went into the Canterbury Boots early this morning just to get a prescription. Anyway, when I first went in about 10am, a lot of shelves were bare, but the SAs were bringing out boxes and boxes of stuff to replenish stock. I noticed that they had the Leapfrog taqg reading books with a clearance sticker price of 3pounds. When I asked the other day about the actual tag system, they didn't have any left. Anyway, one of the SAs said that there were some on the aisle at the end. Went over, and there was a whole four aisles of clearance toys. The Leapfrog tag system was on offer for 10 pounds. The cheapest elsewhere has been 15 pounds in Asda but always out of stock. In toysrus for 40 pounds. Then discovered loads of other toys like the ELC fairy toadstool thing for 6 pounds, lots of fisher price stuff down to 5pounds. If you go to the ACM, you can get a 300 points voucher for spend over 35 pounds. When I got to the checkout, I thought I was going mad and not able to add up as the stuff was well under 35 pounds. It was because some of the Fisher Price and ELC was discounted by 50 % again. The ELC fairy toadstool came up finally as 3 pounds. So, I would advise scanning the stuff before you buy as could be cheaper. I got carried away and spent loads more. Basically, have got birthdays and Christmases covered for all neices and nephews for the next year. The original price for the ELC toadstool was 40pounds on ELC website. Just looked online and stuff does not seem to be coming up at that price.I am sorry I couldn't post earlier. I thought it was a nationwide thing, but looks as though it might just be the Boots in Canterbury city centre. I also asked about other beauty gift sets they were putting out and the SA said that all of that stuff would be staying as 50% off. I think that there was so much stock, that they will have to reduce it further.Hope that helps anyone who lives in the area. I did go back a bit later, and a lot of stuff had disappeared. The SA did make a sarky remark about me opening a toy shop! Happy New Year everyone.0 -
Just back from Boots and received the new No7/R&M voucher. My store had lots of No7 nail varnishes Stay perfect ones for £3 but after the reviews I have heard I didn't buy any. Also quite a few of the xmas No7 shimmer eye palletes for £11.75 and one No7 hand cream for £4. All of this stuff had a clearance sticker with a barcode. Am I correct in thinking it should work with the voucher? I remember having problems before with it beeping and SA having none of it?!
Quite a few S&G glove story still left but none of the Sanctuary stuff that I am after which is also OOS on dot.com! Boohoo. Lots of N07 P&P gift sets so will hang on for 75% for those and quite a few Botanics sets from the little ones in cosmetic pouches to larger ones.
Finally have email to say my xmas sale order of ELC keyboard for DS1 has been despatched. A nice pressie for his birthday, just have to find a place to store it for 7months!
DH is banning me from using the computer as he is gonna do tax returns for the next few days. Hope there are no uber glitches whilst I am out of the loop! Will have to have a sneaky peek when he is in the shower, he, he, he....cos he normally takes it to the loo too!!!

Just been to the big Bond St (London) store again. They have loads of sale stuff left. Hope it goes to 75% off soon.
Many thanks to Sally06 for the tip on the Olay GWP going through free.

I'm sorry to hear so many peeps are having delivery problems, that must be so frustrating. I have done about 12 orders for myself and family over the last 2 months, and all have been delivered on time and well packed with no damage. I may just have been lucky, but thought i should share my positive experiences with dot com as it seems to be getting a real bashing on here recently :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .
It was actually the S&G pamper box...the box is supposed to be a keepsake box...only bought another as I had one but gave it away as a gift....I don't mind though, its a pretty box but still the contents that countsTreasurer and Co Founder of - The Smile It Won't Hurt Club

Just got back from a trip to the Retail Park and Tesco/Sainsburys. Retail Park Boots looks well and truly like a plague of locusts has hit it  *** all left, won't be much if anything for the 75% sale...
Didn't realise about new No7 voucher...have got 4x 250pts vouchers burning a hole in my wallet...so had better get shopping
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet - as well as the new No7 mineral stuff, the Spring limited edition stuff is on it's way too soon, all I can remember co-ordinated blushers, lip pencils and stuff apparently, in pinks and peaches...pretty sure there was more, hope to get an update/further details very soon :TDFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0 -

I think the board guide has said this is the preferred method so that the thread doesn't get too long with similar nominations; see FIRST post. hth
I have just realised that people are nominating Boots grabbit for post of the year. I am afraid that GPG can't win. I nominated her earlier this year and so did many others. She won the £50 for post of the month. :T :T :T
The rules state that she cannot win again for post of the year. I am sure she will be delighted though that so many have thought of her.MSE_Natasha wrote: »Update 5 Dec: As suggestions for Post of the Month have become quite scarce over the last year, we've decided this will be the last award. But to round it off, we've decided to make it POST OF THE YEAR. So if you've seen a post at any point in 2008 which you think is worthy of the £50 award, please let us know (obviously, posts that have won Post of the Month WILL NOT win Post of the Year). The last date for nominating is 31 December '08.
