Thankyou Angie
Will have a wee nosey about and see what I can find!
I really should have picked them up since I was wanting them (salt and pepper grinders, pestle&mortar and a solid wooden chopping board) but I was thinking to myself that there was no need to buy them at full price when I could get them for 50% a few days later
Early bird catches the worm, I guess :rotfl:
I know Sainsbury did have the pestle&mortar and they had the pasta set not sure of anything else though.0 -
well done to all of you who stayed up last night! I woke up about 3 and managed to eventually drag myself out of bed and have a look at the .com website! are you putting things in your basket and refreshing the page or putting them in your favourites and moving them over when it goes to 75% - whenever that may be!saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

I know it says on the first page of CPG's post that you can, in principle buy phone top ups with points instore.
Can I ask, has anyone actually done so/ do SA's know that customers are able to use points to buy top ups.TIA.0 -
Does anyone happen to know if there are still any of the Jamie Oliver items left anywhere? i really regret not picking them up when i saw them a couple of weeks ago now

Yes, I've done this few times. There were few SA's who says you can't but just smile sweetly and said oh i've done this before, can you please try it? And of course, it will let you buy top up with points0 -
Hello peeps,
Just back from Guildford Boots. Sorry to report that there were no lovely GWP, L'Oreal or Olay. Got caught out by the Olay lady who was very nice but I obviously didn't really want to buy any Olay. I have already got my hand cream with the £4 off voucher anyway! There also was very little left in terms of 50% stuff, well at least nothing that I would want even at 75%!
The no7 stand was having a major revamp but no clearance in sight at all.. They were re-stocking shelves with stuff in the new packaging. No idea where all the stuff that was on the shelves has gone. Suppose I should have asked SA!
Earned some blinkies buying Pantene sachets (lots left) and shampoo and used £1 off Pantene PC voucher. This wouldn't scan and so the SA just took off £1 from my total bill and gave up trying it. She said that most of the PC vouchers never scan which they find a real pain.

Yep, me too. Strangely though the site behaves beautifully for me in IE, but gives awful grief in Firefox - thought this was opposite to everyone else's experience?0 -
Hi Sandra,
Thanks for your post. Really nice words.
We were all posting so much to keep each other going through to 03.00.
I managed to 4am and fell into bed, up again at 6 to feed baby and get ready for school run. Just home now!!!
My basket is filled with toys and gifts to see me through to Christmas 2009. This 75% sale will be a life saver for me as well as many others on here - goodness knows what the next year holds for us all.
So if a little bit of light hearted chat/banter offended people then I'm not sorry. I personally think there are more important things to get stressed over.
CPG will be back soon and a new thread will be started, once the 75% happens - whenever that may be  - it will be ever so quiet on here again.
I wonder how many of today's posts will be
"Can't find any glitches/offers/bargin's because of chat"
"Not being funny but can you cut down the chat makes hard reading for all the glitches"
"If we don't have chat we will miss bargins/glitches"
etc etc it really is swings and roundabouts everyone....
Anyway, when is this flipping 75% going to start, I'm like a zombie, I don't think I can last to 3am tomorrow again :rotfl: :rotfl:
That's why I posted it - I felt so sorry for all of you. There's nothing wrong with keeping each other going through the night, and there's nothing wrong with trying to get bargains - isn't that what the "so when does the 75% sale start" posters want as well?
It seems to me that there is a minority of people who want it all handed to them on a plate, and cannot be bothered to read the first page, or even a couple of pages back.
I've done my fair share of answering questions about the sale, what the abbreviations mean, and I've asked questions - yesterday I asked, because I was too thick to work out, what "wombling" meant! But I had tried to find the explanation, and it hadn't been answered on every page.
So unless someone In The Know actually posts definitive evidence when the online sale starts and instore, we're all guessing anyway- so I'm not answering anything, cos I don't really know. I'd hate someone to change their day off work, or miss a lecture, because of my wrong information.
I've noticed as well (and I'm sure others have!) that the people who criticise often commit the same "crime" themselves. But I like reading a post that lists what's available in someone's local store, and then ends with something like "gotta go now, the dog's dying to do a wee" - it's made the poster so much more human, and I know they have a dog!
Yesterday, a lot of post was scar-related, and included details about why the scar was there, but the aim of it was to find out the best cream to use. I asked about non-parabens deodorant, and several people recommended Bionsen, which I bought today - at Boots, naturally!
I was so grateful for this advice, but there was no way I could just post " I want a deodorant without parabens" so I explained I had BC, had been told not to use a deo with parabens, and had been using a useless crystal.
It didn't take me more than 20 minutes to read the All Through The Night posts, and I bet anyone who is complaining would have been very pleased if page 17 of the 22 had included a post that said "It's started! Yippee!", and then listed all the OOS items, best bargains etc.
I love this board. I am so grateful for all who post glitches, and combinations of vouchers to use, and the fact that the posters refer to their DH, or DS or MIL, just makes it more interesting for me. If I don't want to read about the minutiae of their life I don't have to.
Right - I've got that off my chest and am now going to hide behind the armchair, with my tin helmet on!!0 -
personally i dont think there is anything wrong with a bit of friendly chat, but there are some who want the deals and glitches etc and not bother contributing anything themselves, i dont come on the boots grabbits much as there is no boots very local to me, i would like to get some 75% off bargains but hope that it does not get stolen again  . had the police around, arguments with the couriers, plus dissapointed kids. so be wary if having a delivery. this has probably asked a thousand times but does anyone know what day it started on last year?
