buy or make vanilla icecream, bash up the sweeties a bit and swirl them through. this way they can be kept in the freezer out of sight and brought out occasionally.
  • Many thanks for the ideas everyone! The idea is to make something out of it that my OH will eat and that I can offload onto visitors coming to see new baby (when he finally turns up!!!)

How about mixing them in with rice crispy treats? They are SO easy to make and with rice crispies as the main ingredient they are no less healthy than many so called 'cereal' bars...

I made loads of them at one point for a party, which is when I discovered just how easy they are - just melt a big bag of marshmallows with about a tablespoon of butter/marg in a GIANT pot on low heat, stirring regularly, then stir in rice crispies until you can't get any more into the mixture. Turn the mixure out into slightly greased tins (I used foil tins to take to parties for convenience) and sprinkle chocolatey goodness on top! (Chocolate can also be mixed in at the last minute). When set, cut into squares and enjoy. Will last a few days if you keep a lid on them.

Or corn flake clusters with maltesers roughly crushed up in them could be nice too! They are also easy, no-bake snacks ideal for visitors.
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!
  • I agree with Upyonder - Malteser Tray Bake

This one is rather scrummy. Except you're trying to get rid of Maltesers and this will make you want to buy more and make it again :)

you could melt the smarties (might need to bash them up a bit first) in a mug of hot chocolate or make your coffee a mocha by melting them in that... i've done that with cheap chocolate that has the wrong sort of texture and it works

also a vote here for baking them in cookies, in the states you get people using plain m&m's instead of chocolate chips, whilst smarties aren't exactly the same they are close enough and would work fine as a substitution
  • Could add maltesers to a rocky road mix...
  • As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread to give you more ideas ;)

Any kind of chocolate can be shopped up and used instead of choc chips in cakes, muffins and cookies. Things like smarties have the added bonus of making the mix multi coloured. I'm loving the malteser milkshake idea!
  • Hi We have 2 big boxes of cherry liqueur chocolates leftover from christmas. Noone will eat them as they are because they are really strong tasting.

Any ideas what could be done with them? Shame for them to go to waste isnt it?

    thanks

ps also any ideas for leftover bounty chocolates? we have loads and noone will touch them!
