Hello,
Was given a chocolate orange for christmas, anyone got any ideas of how I can use it rather than just eat it??
Trying not to eat 'just chocolate' at the moment, and would rather turn it into a cake or something...has anyone tried this before??
Would appreciate any ideas on this, thanks!
(oh, and the use by date means I can't just keep it until next xmas then give it away!!)Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
how about using it as a chocolate topping for a sponge cake, add half the weight of butter or spread to the weight of the choc, put in pan over hot water to melt, mix, then stand aside til thick enough to spread, then spread over the cake.. the butter keeps the topping soft enough to cut through.nov grocery challenge, £.227.69/300, 9/25 nsd: , 7 Cmo, 10 egm.

how about anything you would use normal chocolate in?
Or give it to someone as a gift, or take it into work, it'll go really quickly!0 -
I'm thinking of making a batch of Rocky Road with mine! Mmmm, yummy marshmallows, glace cherries, pistachios and crunchy biscuit all held together with the lovely taste of orange chocolate.

Thanks people! I am all over that rocky road...mmmmmmm....but the chocolate cake topping sounds pretty nifty too. Thanks for the ideas, and I definitely see this being my cooking plan tomorrow - looks like the snow will keep me off work again!Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000

I remember seeing a post somewhere for a giant Jaffa cake where you basically used a pre-made sponge base, orange jelly and put melted chocolate on top - maybe you could melt the chocolate orange for the topping to add to the orangey flavour? I quite fancy that now......!0
