  • Smarties are good in cookies, for example try the Millies' cookie recipe and either add them whole or stick some in a bag and bash them up a bit to make smaller pieces.

Sorry can't think of a recipe for the Maltesers, but you could just send them to me! :D.

    It's only a game

A cafe round the corner from my office does a sort of chocolate fridge cake topped with maltesers - it always vanishes quite quickly so I imagine it's pretty good. You can use smarties in cookies - sort of chocolate chip with a crunchy coating, I'd guess.

Ah, MrsBartolozzi beat me to it with the cookie suggestion!
Back after a very long break!
  • I know its not a cake etc, but you could always use the maltesers in a milkshake, one scoop ice-cream, milk add maltesers and blend. There is a place near me that sells these which any sweets, cakes, choc's in and are very popular!! HTH :)

There is always mateser tray bake:

    8oz milk chocolate
    4oz marg/butter
    8oz crushed digestives
    8oz maltesers
4oz milk chocolate for topping (optional)
    3 tablespoons of golden syrup.

line 11x7 baking tin, gently melt the marg, syrup and chocolate in a pan, add the crushed digestives and the maltesers, mix well and put in tin, top with melted chocolate (optional) chill in fridge.

It is delicious and very more-ish :)
  • Try Hugh F-W's Recycled Chocolate Fridge Cake (middle recipe in the link). The picure it came with in Teh Guardian was fab :j

I saw this recipe for a Leftover Halloween Candy Vanilla Bundt cake. It looks rather yummy and I'd imagine it'd bake just as well in an ordinary tin.

    Send them to me!

Or, bash up the Maltesers in a plastic bag for a vanilla ice cream topping.

My kids got masses of smarties and malteasers from people for christmas and I don't really allow many chocolate treats, just once or twice a week, and they normally pick white chocolate buttons over milk.
So what can I do with them? I have two of the large boxes of malteasers and 4 large tubes of smarties! anyone know of any cakes or such like with them as the main ingredient so I can dispose of these :o

hmm, you say you dont like your kids to eat alot of sweets, but in the next sentence you ask for help on disguising them in other foodstuffs? - bit of an odd stance

however, if your kids wont eat them, then give them away to someone who would enjoy eating them (where do you live? lol)

Decorate cakes with them, a sponge with butter cream and scatter smarties or malteasers looks very nice, do not put them on until the last minute as the colour may run.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
  • Eat them in front of Eastenders tonight - before you give birth (assuming you are still not in Labour!!)

Or put them in your hospital bag. I have a massive amount of choc in mine - I ended up staying in for 5 days last time, and it was a lifesaver doing those 3am feeds on my own in hospital!

Incidentally, if you are overdue I sympathise.... mine is due a week on saturday and I am fed up already!!
