Oooh, oooh, hot chocolate! Just break it up into a mug and pour hot milk over it. The trick is not to eat some while breaking it upTrust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

I'll add your thread to the leftover chocolate thread later - it may also offer some ideas and suggestions

Well, another Christmas, and another huge pile of Chocolate!
I hope I dont sound ungrateful, but when you have three children and a generous family member who works for a well known chocolate company, you end up with a cupboard full! (seriously, a whole kitchen cupboard FULL) and I hate seeing it going to waste! Most is milk chocolate, some is white chocolate.
Not wanting to waste it, I wonder if there are some interesting ideas to do something with it, hopefully something that will give it a longer shelf life perhaps? Can it be frozen? Could I make Chocolate sauce and put it in jars, would that keep longer?
I would happily donate some to a charity, or for any kind of fund raising, but all the local fairs (school/church etc) were before Christmas (And most of the chocolate is 'christmas themed')
Any suggestions gratefully recieved!:)0 -
yes it can be frozen, and eaten straight from freezer, you could chop some up to go in cookies and cakes, cake topping, hhm hot choc drink, choc sauce for deserts etc, freeze then buy some easter egg mould from ebay to make your own, save you buying any for the kids at easterOne day I will live in a cabin in the woods0

does it have a short shelf life???0

If you have a variety of chocolate, could you see if the school wanted to do a chocolate tombola as a one off event, or maybe when they have a cake stall or dress down day too? You could make it clear that you have sufficient chocolate!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

does it have a short shelf life???
Ive not checked it all (there's lots!) but the ones ive looked at have a best before March or April time. However there is so much, we would never be able to get through it all by then, even if we all had very sweet teeth and a serious chocolate fetish!0
