I use the toffee pennys from quality street to make toffee apple pie. just a standard apple pie with cut up toffee pieces added to the filling for extra yum. healthier and kinder on the teeth than just munching through toffees.Wins: 2008: £606.10 2009: £806.24 2010: £713.47 2011: 328.320

I have quite a lot of chocs too. I am trying not to eat too many of them either. I haven't thought of doing anything except leaving them around where my (damn them) thin kids and oh can eat them. I have eaten far too much this last few days and have made myself go out for a bike ride today.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I'm trying to limit myself to one chocolate a day as I have the same problem. It isn't working though, and they're calling me.
If you have fudgy ones or truffles, I bet they'd be lovely chopped up and added to ice cream, and chunks of chocolate would be nice chopped up in muffins or biscuits for real luxury.

I can't think of a single recipe that won't add extra calories by incorporating chocolate and you don't want to give them away so I don't know what the answer to your conundrum is!
I am sharing my unopened tin with the office.
I happen to love mince pies but didn't buy any this year. I read a magazine article that said they are just not worth the calories, I knew this to be true and but seeing it in print for some reason struck a chord. Ditto for the chocolates - I might eat a few if they are on the treat table at work, but not the whole lot which is what I would happen if I emptied the tin into my candy jar.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

The previous ideas sound good but I'm not sure that there's much that you can do with them that would be low calorie. According to one old styler though, they keep well. I'm afraid I couldn't be that self contained.
I'm thinking of making a £3.99 sweetie bet - will it work?

I dont mean NO calories - just not a full tin melted and eaten lol someone at work suggests cutting up one of the mini bars that you get and putting them into cookies to give the kids. I gave one tin away to sister but swore her not to tell anyone as they will think we're ungrateful for giving presents away!
I cant dish them out at work im afraid. Theres already 4 tins there lol
my sister was going to use hers with her ew choc fountain until she saw how much oil goes in it lol
wonder if they will last till halloween lol
(bro's birthday in feb, maybe i can give him them lol)0 -
Christmas chocolates normally have a really short date on them so that you can't recycle them as gifts later in the year. Take no notice of the date on them and let them last over the next few months. You're bound to get the munchies aty some point while watching TV / having a games evening with the kids etc so I'm sure they won't go to waste.0

Hmmm - I received a solid chocolate bar weighing 1 kilo (no kidding) from work. The good thing is it's too big to get your teeth into, they'd break.
I am going to melt some of it down and dip quarters of pear in it for pudding when the neighbours come for dinner this week. The rest will have to wait till DH's weight has restored itself from the Christmas sherry trifle."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
We're still eating Mingles from last Xmas, they're fine. Don't worry about eating them up quickly!:wave:0

Buy a roll of sandwich bags (you get 50 on a roll on the Tesco Value ones) and divide your chocs out so that you have a few each week.
Put the bulk of them away somewhere where you find hard to reach to avoid eating more of them.0
