Morning peeps
Hoping also that those who were unwell are feeling better.
Some of my lot are heading for the sales today but DD and I are staying at home and will have a wander into our small town for a nice coffee.
We have left over veg- froze the Christmas Day lot and will do the same with yesterday's. Today's tea is a chicken and bacon pasta dish - we had beef at Christmas so I am ready for a change. Last of the beef, which is sliced in gravy now, will be frozen today and will be a fab treat some time in January.
I feel ready to take the tree down today but will fight that urge as DS's girlfriend arrives on 30th and her presents are still under the tree. I have to finish up the seam of a hat for her and also have to finish knitting DD's boyfriend's hat so that will be a nice thing to do today. DS got a hat from DD - I had sent her the link ages ago - something like Bev's troops hat. Anyway, it's a straightforward pattern but is quite chunky - really nice. Let me know if anyone wants the link and I'll see what I can do.
I got a lovely book from DH called Knitting for Peace. It's all about knitting groups throughout the world who knit for those affected by war, displacement, illness. It gives the story of how the groups were started, how they run and what they do and also has some patterns.
I also got a Hebridean desk diary from DD with sketches from the 'author' of it - she is Mairi Hedderwick who *I think* wrote the Katy Morag books. My kids loved those when they were little. We lived on the east coast of Scotland but went to the west coast for some hols. The only island we went to was Skye but it did still give a flavour of Katy Morag!!
Ok, off to have a little browse then get dressed. Am being a bit lazy today.
Take care all

Has anyone actually managed to buy anything in the Boots On-line Sale?? I have been trying to checkout for over 12 hours!!!! The helpline says some people are managing to complete checkout, but, many are like myself and cannot access it. Fab bargains to be had, just can't pay for them. Can anyone help????? As I am wasting my precious Christmas Holiday  So much for the Superdrug on-line sale too, that is off!!!! Must be my bad luck charm0

Morning!
Haven't posted on here for a while but I do pop in for a read most days. I'm sorry that so many people have been poorly over xmas and hope you're all back to normal soon.
We had a lovely xmas and the girls got a wii which has been great fun. We had lots of yummy food, and yesterday I froze 2 portions of turkey in stock, 1 portion of gammon in stock and a large portion of bubble and squeak. The freezer, fridge, cupboards, top of the cupboards, spare bedroom etc are full of food/drink which will keep us going well into 2009!
I've already ordered a few items in the Boots 50% online sale for next xmasand treated myself to a couple of things from the Littlewoods Direct sale.
The plans for today are to put the wm on, eat leftovers for lunch  and make noodles and veg for tea. I'm really enjoying the xmas break as the run upto it was so hectic at work, home and church. We've all got another week off :j and return to school on Monday 5th Jan. Have a good day!0 -
Good Morning All
Lovely white and frosty here in Essex today. Peace and quiet here thank goodness. Yesterday went really well Stepmum was really happy so that was lovely and I feel bad for moaning now.
Today we are about to have leftover bubble n squeak bacon and eggs. OH will hoover and wash the floors and I will start the ironing mountain. OH wants to invite his parents over this evening, kids arent happy about it but never mind.
Jet - I am like you with the sales, I think I am missing out on something and just end up buying something coz I feel I should so I am avoiding them and trying not to think about it.
Off now to start the fry up, have a lovely day all.

Morning peeps
very cold overnight here last night, when i looked out around 2am it was frosty but it had all disappeared by 7am, i ran Mr Sunny to work and walked the houndies when i got back, all their pals were running around in the local park an they had a fine old time, both are now zonked out and snoring loudly and i have a lovely cuppa to warm me up.
Today i shall strip the bed and clean the bedroom - i need to make room in the wardrobe for the new clothes that we recieved at Christmas and then i have an enormous ironing mountain to tackle  .
Kitchen wise i need to do a quick clean around and then plate up some leftovers for later, i think that there will be enough for two huge dinners with leftover turkey and beef so i shouldn`t need to cook later.:D
The fridge will also get sorted out and i shall make a couple of pizzas for later tomorrow as we will be eating at my mums in the afternoon and won`t feel like doing a deal when we return.
Dsis is returning from holiday later today so i shall give her a ring but we probably won`t visit until at least Monday which is probably best as they will need to sleep off the journey.
I have a very full day planned so i shall browse online for half an hour before springing enthusiastically into action  Good luck to those who are braving the sales, i shall be tucked away at home as i hate the crowds and i don`t need a single thing
((((HUGS)))) for everyone!
Have a peaceful day folks.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
A quietish day planned for us. Managed to get DS the kicker boots in the next online sale so quite chuffed. Have HM bread on the go and DH making lentil soup. An expensive night though - out for a 40th meal :-(. DH and I planning on emptying the freezer and coming up with a menu plan for the next couple of weeks. Have some bananas about to go off so will also make a banana loaf. Hope you all have a nice day.So little money - so much time :mad:0

Good morning all. Quite cold here this morning and despite several cups of tea cannot seem to get warm. I'm not looking forward to going to the shop later on for some milk, bread and a few bits that can't wait for my monthly shop.
I'm not braving the sales as I don't have the funds put away for it. It's not a deal if I have to buy with credit. Working hard to get out of debt at this point and we're maintaining the course.
Will do my online grocery shop later today as the cupboards and freezer are about bare. Dinner for tonight will be potatoes au gratin with ham and peas.
Have a little tidying up to do and gifts to put away that we got at our daughters. Other than that, I'm having a lazy day.
DH is working today so I'd like to get things done today so there isn't much to do tomorrow when he is off.
Hope all those feeling poorly get well very soon.
Hugs to all who want and/or need them.
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.
