Well, have bought a new front and back door (£1800 added to debt) needed them as the front door is an old wooden one and wont open in winter as swollen and so so drafty and the back door has been bodged on and so so drafty and the lock is slowly breaking, takes at least 5 mins to unlock the door! we were saving to get it done but was taking forever and a day so we got them with finance!!! moment of weakness.......... then i went out on a headwetting on sat, no "going out" clothes that fit as all mine are pre ds2 and a size 10 (now a 14) so bought a new top, pants, shoes and a pull everything in from the bust line to thigh pants to hide my muffin top and baby belly!!!!
so am basically back to where i started debt wise, and prob a little bit more!!!! one step forward and three steps back!!!! we were even looking at getting a new car as really dont like the one we've got but looking at the bank balance last night and me and my fella have had a renewed LBM (although think this may be the LBM for my fella)December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Rags, off to the naughty step now

what a shame about the doors, but understandbly (sp) you did need them. Your post rang a bell with me tho, my spending seems to spiral (as does my eating) Once i start i seem unable to stop.....the reason we are in so much debt.
MY NAME IS SHARRON AND I AM A SPENDAHOLIC/EATAHOLIC
there, i've said it now.
Anyhow hope you peeps are enjoying the snow. I's the first time my little dog has seen it and she absoloutly loves it, she was playing out with the kids earlier flicking it in the air and hiding in it.
Bye for know SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -

Hello folks
Yesterday we were bogged down with snow, today it's stunning sunshine and not a sign of yesterdays snow storms at all.
I am also bogged down with another heavy cold, second one this year and we are only five weeks in.
My mother has a theory that working too much or being tired lowers your immune system, it's probably true. So I am drinking plenty of fluids, cuddling hot cups of tea and being generally lazy.
Glad to know you have got your dummy Rags, have you named her yet? Mine is called Casherella for obvious reasons, she certainly makes clothes look gorgeous.
Try not to worry about spending on your doors, they are important for security and helping keep the house insulated so probably will pay for themselves eventually.
It's not like you will never use them.
And when you get back to a size 10, you can put your newely bought clothes on your dummy and flog them on Ebay.
If you wasn't paying your debts off you would have added alot more than two doors and a few clothing items to your tally...so chin up and keep marching onwards and upwards.
Regarding your previous question, when I list my Ebay stuff I put the items on for the length of days, that ensure they go off on a Wednesday or Thursday.
I will have to join your club Sharron and yes, I am a spendaholic/eataholic too. I definately either over eat or over spend when I am feeling a bit down.
I may try and replace my pleasures of over eating choccy and unnecessary buying for the sake of it, with exercise.:rotfl: Okay, maybe that's wishful thinking but I am definately trying to deal with any emotions I am feeling with action than reaction.
We are going for a new mortgage this week after coming out of a two year fixed deal and I am quite nervous about it. I am sure, by now our house is probably in negative equity therefore I am unsure whether our current lender will offer us a new fixed rate deal which we would like. If we end up going on the current SVR, that's fab in the short term but when interest rates go up in the future...our mortgage that already stretches us may become uncontrollable. I have worked out that we could just about pay up to 9% (with a lot of concessions and financial misery). Historically, interest rates have gone up to 15% but we are in a recession that is probably unprecedented, so lord knows what the future holds.
If we do go on the SVR we will continue to pay the same mortgage amount to hopefully, one day in the not too distant future, get back into positive equity.
I have today off work but really don't feel up to Ebaying, or tidying up or doing anything other than lolling on the couch watching TV. My O/H who is just starting to recover from his man flu, has been a great help though. He has washed the pots, hoovered, walked the dogs and mopped through the house. Very uncharacteristic but very appreciated, bless his size 10's. :A0 -
hey bamby, sorry to hear you are feeling poorly sick again.... i think your mum is right, its our bodies way of telling us to slow down a bit. Oh and can i borrow your fella, mine does nothing, even when im ill!!!!!
did call my dummy barbie but now named her ivana-be as would love the figure myself although would need a lot of money and a fantastic plastic surgeon!
good luck with the new mortgage, dont think we are going to be lucky with the rates when ours finish's in nov as dont own 10% of it yet!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Ah hope your feeling better soon bamby. Stay warm and put your feet up, and well done to Mr Bambywamby:A for taking good care of you.
Hugs SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0 -
Thank you ladies
, I am feeling a little better today, just snotty and headachey.
I should be back on in the full swing of things by the weekend, back to my nagging best.
I am very pleased to say we have been offered a ten year fixed rate mortgage with the ability to overpay, this puts us in the fabulous position of starting our MFI9/10 journey. I was getting worried that due to negative equity we wouldn't get a new fixed deal...but we have, so a great big PHEWWWWWW!
I have just had a lovely chicken stew with the biggest fluffy dumplings all made from left overs. Chicken carcass, past it carrots & potatoes, left over green beans, two onions, one stock cube and fat free dumplings (s/r flour, eggs, water & salt). Really scrummy and warming plus I would have normally thrown most of those ingredients away, so I am pleased with the end results.
My O/H put my last birthday cheque in the bank, it is only £10 but when it clears it is going on a debt. Two of the credit cards (Crag & Cap1) both have rates of interests on them, (the others are currently 0%) so I really want to get those sorted first. Crag card is currently 16.9% and Cap1 is 16%. These are first for the chop.
My O/H is in mourning...the Superleague (rugby) season is just about to kick off on Sky sports and lasts for the next eight months, sadly our Sky subscription runs out in 20 days.
Talking of money matters, my son keeps going out and leaving his lap top on. We have told him over and over to ensure that he turns his bedroom light off and his lap top off when they are not in use. But it goes in one ear and out of the other...so today, we have removed the power cable. I shall start with a 24 hour ban off the net and take it from there. I am just hoping he doesn't get withdrawl symptoms. :rotfl:
I know I would.

ummm, havent had dumplings for years!!!! the chicken stew sounds really nice too!!!
Ooh found a website last night that you can input everything you have eaten and it will add up how many calories you have had and tell you how many you should be eating!!!!!! will find the website address if you want it??
well done on your fixed rate, what rate did you get?? (i know, nosey parker)December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

i love dumplings but never realised you could make them fatless, i've just ended up using low fat veggie suet. I'm about to make eccles cakes, defrosted some pastry by mistake so should do something with it.
Glad you're feeling a bit better, and sorry to hear you've having to be hard on your son, but sometimes it's only those actions that gets through to people.
Oh and well done for the fixed mortgage, there's not that many deals around at the moment so that's very good, i bet you're breathing easier now0 -
I too wanted to save money and lose weight. i saw an advert on internet stating ''FREE TRIAL'' weight loss tea, pay only shipping costs- i applied and three weeks in a bag of tea has cost me £64.10, the only weight loss has been caused by the stress of the costs - I trust you do better than i have at present.....(WU-YI) DONT TOUCH IT!!0
