Thanks Rags, your words of encouragement mean a lot. X x

Today has been a nice, relaxed day...it is my birthday yay! I got lots of nice prezzies, £40 in money and we went out for lunch (not forgetting our DFW, and went to a BogOff pub.)

I then had an afternoon snooze (I know, lazy mare) but seeing as it was my birthday, I thought I should treat myself. I know I won't get the leisure of many afternoon naps if we have a bubs...but as we are still in the planning stage, for now I shall take advantage of any relaxation time.

Half of my birthday money went straight in the bank to put towards a CC, the other I shall spend on a hair dye. I have shocking roots lol but I have given up the hairdressers for a few months so I will be doing my own.

We have 31 days left of Sky before it goes off for good, so I am making the most of the movie channels. I have just watched Titanic for the first time ever...what a fab film! I should have watched it a lot sooner...and next up is a late night horror I think.

I am trying to keep my chin up as I am starting to feel grotty again...only two weeks free of a bad cold and I think I have another one on the horizon...ho hum. My mum reckons my immune system is low due to stress...I reckon it's cause I work in an environment that brews bugs nicely.

Well I am off to see if an iced glass of pear cider will chase my grottiness away :D,
    have a fabulous weekend all.

    Love Bam x

P.S I am cheering for Terry to win CBB. :T

Ok, Maury is just poo (But a guilty pleasure of mine when t'other half is sleeping!) but you could buy/rent DVDs of Prison Break and then binge! I do this with 24, as I can't wait a week between episodes :rotfl: With the amount you're saving, you could justify the cost.

happy birthday, and i hope the overtime went well.
I've also booked myself a hair appointment, my roots are so long now and the greys are so bad, so i decided to use some of my backpay for a treat.
I've got some days off next week with OH and we're doing decorating - the high life! but it will look fab once it's done and will be so much easier to keep on top of

Thanks Lemon, having your hair done really gives you a lift doesn't it.
I normally would go every eight weeks but I have decided I will leave it for 16 weeks before I have a trim and my roots done professionally. Saves a few quid...well £60...more than a few.
My days off too seem to be filled with cleaning, decorating or shopping...we really should take out more time for ourselves. My O/H love him though I do, needs whipping and cajoling to do anything when he has time off...I should take a leaf out of his book...and do bu88er all unless it's an emergency.

It's been a funny old weekend...Ulrika won CBB...my cold lasted a day and then went again and a careless driver hit my sons car on a roundabout causing £1000 worth of damage. He is gutted and worried about the insurance company coming to a 50/50 claim decision even though he wasn't at fault. He was on the roundabout and a woman joining from the left, hit him. At the time she acknowledged it was her fault, but when it came to speaking to her insurance company she is saying otherwise.
My son has £500 excess on his policy (which he doesn't have) and wouldn't be able to afford the rise in insurance that a claim would cause. His insurance is already (£2200 a year) due to him being only 17.
I cannot help him out as he already owes me £3000 and that's my ceiling limit, so I have had a moping teenager lolling around the house all weekend, grizzling and moaning.

I still haven't been to the dentist yet, I am not bothered about the dentist perse but I am about the cost. I know I should get it done, but there always seems a bill to pay or credit card that is more pressing.

On a more optimistic note...I have worked another 2.5hrs overtime today and O/H has been given two days overtime this week which is fab! I have sold a further £80 of clothing on Ebay bringing my total to £176.89. :D I think I will aim for £500 worth of clothes before I stop culling my wardrobe.
My diet hasn't gone very well, from my birthday meal out and cream birthday cake...to now, I have picked all weekend. I am quite stressed about my son and our finances so this has led to some serious comfort eating. I really must try and reign myself in before I spoil the good work of the last few weeks. It's soooooo hard though. :(
On the reverse side of the coin...I am keeping up with my 10'000 steps a day. Yesterday I did nearly 20'000 (I took the dogs out for a two hours walk) so hopefully that will help limit any damage.

Talking of dog walks..it's time for the after Sunday lunch stroll with the three mutts and the O/H...catch up soon.

  • my god bamby, what a good amount made on ebay!!!!! well done and pass on some of the good luck to me, i have only made £20 or so.....
Sorry to hear bout your sons car, well done for staying strong, wish my mum and dad hadnt bailed me out so much when i was living at home, think i would of learnt the value of money a little quicker!!!
