All ready to make snowman soup gifts with. :j :rotfl: :T*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0 -
I love those mugs! I got some cute ones in TKMaxx in January but now I want to keep them!!
I really like the Martha Stewart website but I don't find it very easy to navigate to browse.0 -
s_micheals I love the scarfs, they look so cosy. The pink one is fab was it a fluffy or bobbly wool you used(sorry it's hard to tell from the pic)
How brilliant are those mugs, as you say they're just crying out for snowman soup. One of those mellows poked on a small length of wooden BBQ skewer and put in the mug as decoration with the soup would be lovely.0 -
It's the bobbly kind of wool lol, £1 a ball from Instore and you get loads, I still have a ball and a half after making that scarf.
I know what you mean about wanting to keep the mugs, my mum has bought me some to use but she reall likes them to and will probably end up keeping them lol.
It's only March and I can't wait to get started on putting everyone's Christmas presents together!!!*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0 -

Hi all,
I love coming to this thread and catching up on all your activities.
On the subject of bargains, in Ethel Austins I bought an A4 ring binder that has lots of colourful sections with pockets especially for stickers and card craft (aimed at children - but brilliant for adults too!) this was £2. I thought it would be good to organise all my backing papers and stickers. Also bought some lovely tiny beads to try make into Xmas ornaments - £1.
Have any of you ever tried sewing/weaving Hama beads? I've got a massive box of them and like to try something different to do with them apart from the usual. Any tips?0 -
Flipping heck!
How did i miss this thread???
Glad to see I am not the only nut job wondering around looking at possible Christmas presents in March though!
2008 - I made a pink and white themed smellies hamper for my step mother,
A cooking hamper for my dad with a Jamie oliver shaker, magnetic spice rack, herbs to grow and tow sauces /dressings book
and a girls night in hamper for my sister
2007 - I made a fruit tea hamper for my nan with teapot, cup, fruit teas, tea strainer and scarf.
a keep warm hamper for my arthritic grandad with cup, shortbread, cardigan, wheat bag and non elastic socks.
my step mum had a blue/white smellies hamper
my dad had a grandad survival kit.
my sister had a baking hamper.
my mother in law had a treat basket of her favourite things and i researched her family tree for her which she had struggled with for ages and reunited her with her two long lost brothers. This is my favourite Xmas moment EVER!!!!
my sister in law had a smellies hamper.
so this year i need to top these gifts. Im planning on cross stitching 3 cards, and hand making 4 - i brought plain cards at a craft stall and some Christmas labels reduced down to 10p for a pack of 5 (i got two) which are red and gold so i figure glueing one to a plain white card will look quite effective I have the intention of putting vouchers or money (as they have a fair distance to travel) into 4 so i need to save £50 to split between them so will be looking for some nice Xmas designs to put on these if anyone's got any (*ahem!* Mrs M!)
I have already got a pink a4 folder in baby pink (20p in woolies closing sale) for my sisters home management bag, got the bag it was 20p in the woolies closing down sale - and it has love hearts on it.think there is a mini address book in there too and going to try and find a recipe book with love hearts on too for her to enjoy.
then a nice romantic night in hamper for my dad and step mum who tend to have nights away together in the lake district so i thought a romantic hamper for them to share would be nice - so need to get thinking on that.
my oldest niece who's 4 in November i want to make a girly sock monkey and cross stitch her a disney fairy name plate for her bedroom, and maybe some pyjamas
youngest niece (2 in September) ?????????????????????/ and some pyjamas
my nan ive no idea at all - well stumped although she loves WI, baking, growing veg, crafting so ill think of something.
grandad - i want to make an arthritic help basket - non elastic socks, cardigan, shortbread and other things that can help him as hes 72, sights failing, and he has difficulty doing a lot of things.
I also want to make a few things for ben this year.
A name plate for his and his brothers bedroom,
a pyjama bag,
a no sew blanket for his bed,
a sock monkey possibly
so got a fair bit to get started on and be looking out for - I have already got £5 in tesco vouchers saved away to for something even if it is smellies and treats towards my dad and SM hamper.Time to find me again0 -
