Crafting for Christmas 2009, let's begin again.......

Good idea to start a crafting for all other occasions thread Sian the Green.
I have been thinking of some felt gifts. Ive been thinking of making some felt gift totes up and adding little gifts to them.
One idea was a childrens baking set - cutters, rolling pin etc and if you are a sewing fan you could even make a little apron to go in the bag.
Another one was following on from mary43`s idea of making plant markers and thought a bag made from green felt with some applique felt leaves, plant decorations and containing hand made plant markers, seed repackaged into personal seed envelopes - these were in a craft mag I have and they look great! and some garden twine.
Another idea was a childs gardening bag - if you can get hold of iron on vinyl for the felt then this would make the bag wipe clean easily. In this put some gardening gloves , a digger ( small trowel) and some seed packets again in a little personal seed envelope could even put the childs name on this.
Just a few ideas, I`m always thinking of crafts!!!!

found this pattern yesterday (don't think it's been posted here before) The girl made them as last-minute hand-made Valentine’s Day gift idea but in different colours they can just as well be Christmas tree decorations. I made these two last night. To make one took roughly an hour to knit, stuff it and sew it together.0 -
Well I can't see a thread specifically for crafting for gifts for people. How does one go about starting one? We could name it something similar to this one "crafting for gifts 2009" so that we can all have 2 threads to post our amazing stuff onGod is good, all the time

Love that idea - I was going to put some sunflower seeds into a pot with some gold covered chocolates and call it a 'pot of sunshine' but I could do a 'bag of sunshine' instead maybe ?
sian - wonder if this thread could be changed to a general one ? A lot of the ideas put on here are for christmas and/or birthdays.
At last - finished my Dammit Doll !!!:T :T :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Blanket stitched all round him, wasn't happy with his eyes so re-did them (pale blue with black in the middle) and gave him some 'worried' eye brows.
Think I might tie a suede shoe lace round his neck. Couldn't do any more hair as ran out of wool...............lol
Thought I'd be able to fit him in a gravy granule tub but he's too big - any ideas what I can put him in ? He needs a home of some sortMary

Great work mary! Could you cut down a pringles tube to put him in?
I am happy to post other gift ideas on here too, as long as people don't mind. Can you change the name of a thread once it is open?God is good, all the time

Great idea Sian, anyone can start a new thread, I think? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Sian - don't know if you can change a thread half way through but as rainmac says anyone can start one.
Haven't got a pringles tube - got twiglets tubes but think I'd make a right mess of them if I tried to cut them about...............:rotfl:
I could probably get my doll in a gravy tub if I really tried but don't want to wreck him now its taken me two days to make...........:rotfl: (Is anyone else as slow as me)
