Had a good day today between Ikea, Tesco, Matalan and Home Bargains. I managed to get pink blue and black collapsable boxes called Drona from Ikea - £2.99 each and perfect for hampers! I got the yellow bowls for the pots of gold too and also managed to get £10 in gift cards from handing in 10 books so overall got a lot of goodies and only spent £30!! Homebargains - Cherry lambrini, gorgeous pink colour to go in the girlie hampers £1.99 each and some other pink goodies. Then Matalan had 3 for 2 on the christmas pressies so i got some more bits there.......then Tesco.....managed to get all the gold coins, gold sweets and tins of biscuits etc (beautiful snow scene tins half price £3.50) Some of the Elspeth Gibson shabby chic goodies were on half price too... So managed to almost finish the hamper shopping today! :D:D

Just a quicky from me, my OH loves the proper jelly beans, and I managed to get some in sainsburys the other day, just the small tubes which are 99p and gourmet ones so some quite exotic flavours! I emptied them into a glass jar we have had stuck in the cupboard for ages and it almost filled it. (I need to buy one more tube just to make it full) I cut out the different flavour bit of the tubing and placed it on the top ... voila ... jellybeans in a jar ;) at a fraction of the cost that jelly bean company charge for their pots ;) and I know OH will love it! I may change the ribbon for some christmassy ribbon!

hey just noticed someone mentioning a free font on someones blog, well there are websites that allow you to download them for free.

    www.dafont.com
    www.1001freefonts.com

These are the two main ones I used to use when I worked in a printers designing things.

I did something similar last Christmas but filled a Kilner Jar with all different types of mints for my OH - was thoroughly enjoyed. Can't believe what this kind of thing costs in the shops. Will do the same this year.

I saw in Matalan they were selling "pick & mix" jars with little scoops attached. :rolleyes:Maybe get a little scoop (Ikea??) to the side so that he can scoop out the Jelly beans??

are any of you struggling to find pots for your pots of gold? Do they have to be gold pots or just pots filled with gold?

oh and if you google pot of gold it looks a bit like a cauldron, I know there's loads of cheap plastic ones in the shops what with halloween so does anyone think they'd work?

    Hi s_michaels,

I am making loads of pots of gold this year... I have decided to spray paint plant pots gold because its cheap and I think they will look pretty authentic... having said that, I bet there will be loads of stuff in the sales after halloween.

Also, I've just saved £9.50 on gold coins... they are on BOGOFF in Tesco, Forero Roches are on offer too - £3.50 for 30! So fill your boots! ;o)

Found this 2010 calendar bookmark idea today, think it's a great idea and allows you to decorate one side of the bookmark and have the calendar on the other... http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=14699339

I don't think the pots have to be gold coloured ;)
