Has anyone got any nice designs for homemade Christmas Stockings that would be suitable for a 30 year old man? (Even though he acts more like an 18 year old). I was going to make an advent calendar for him with 24 mini stockings but my list of main presents for him just keeps growing and it would add an extra £20ish onto my budget, whereas if I do a stocking I could put some of his smaller presents in it and just buy some chocolate coins and a few daft things for a quid or so to put in to fill it out. I'd quite like to make him a personalised one though. Come to think of it, do men like stockings? I know I get excited and demand we have ours every year (my mam made them for us when we were little, they're tradition
) but is it the kind of thing men will just roll their eyes at?

Actually, think I'm going to buy a plain red and white stocking off eBay for a couple of quid, sew on some yellow felt Mario stars, and write his name on the white bit with some glitter glue. That way it's kind of Christmassy with the stars still, but personalised as he loves retro gaming and Nintendo, and should be nice and easy to do!
So far I've thought of this to put in there...
Choc coins/giant choc coin
Candy cane
Pot of gold with a gold covered 2p in there which I got off eBay
Jelly lolly
Mini toiletries
warcraft trading cards
small box of Jelly Belly
choc covered coffee beans
pop rocks
thorntons choc lollies
Sock monkey
Hama bead coasters and magnets
Snakes on a soduku book
Lighters and rizlas
Razor refills
Will probably think of more though, depending on how big the stocking is.D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
hiya ladies
I mainly post on the sock monkey and nappy cake threads but had a wee peek in here today and i'm totally addicted (shh don't tell my other half he's already freaking out at the amount of stuff I have to make cakes and monkeys lol) I am planning on making dammit dolls and the match box advent calendars, I have had a quick look online for plain craft match boxes but they all seem quite expensive esp after you add on postage. any tips on where to get these from or do you think would it be cheaper just to buy matches from the shop and get the boxes that way?0 -
