rainmac - I made a coaster calendar :T Printed off the calendar pages last night -stapled them together, covered a coaster I'd got with purple card and some off white (calender is purply colour so needed a contrast) bit of ribbon, few purple and white felt flowers from boot fair -took all morning though...................hoovering went to pot.............:rotfl:(as did washing etc.)
Charity shop still had the place mats so I got all six of them..........some have bit of damage but can be covered by a biggish notepad............20p each :j
Can't wait now to get some big notepads and stick on..........:j

just about everywhere are selling off their summer 'outdoor living' stock and lots of plastic sundae glasses are very cheap right now.
in asda they had lots of brightly coloured glasses at 25p each you could buy a set of co=ordinating the plastic cutlery to match and just use the spoons (they're cheap enough)
you dont sya how old the boys are, but if they are young i think the plastic stuff will be ideal

Sounds fab!!! They make such a great present I think, I like your idea of notebooks, could do a matching stationery set - calendar, post-it note holder, notebook...

This isn't really a crafty pressie but saw these photo bags in Hobbycraft and picked one up for my mum and MIl for Christmas... http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/productdetail.asp?productcatalogue=319022
I thought £5.99 was a pretty good price. Thought I could add a couple of bits in the bag.

thanks thats great, will have look- oldest boy is 10 and youngest-6- but he's a bit unpredictable behaviour -wise if you know what i mean- so plastic would probably be a good idea

bluestarrz- what a brilliant idea - I've got a couple I picked up from charity shops and keep meaning to fill them in,,,,,,,,,,,,,,need a third really so grandchildren have one each. I'll get round to that once christmas is out of the way I think (unless I get time before then)

rainmac - don't think I can do matching sets - already done as many post it holders in different card, as there are people...............lol Can maybe co-ordinate colours though.
Place mats I got...........wondering now whether to get some cheap cork tiles and cut them to fit the space thats got no pattern on otherwise folk will have all notebooks of various sorts -cork board will make a change.

Shan't get a lot done over next fortnight as we've a new teenager boy arriving in about an hour for respite from his foster carers - unless he likes playing with paper and glue..................lol:rotfl:

stardrops - they look brilliant :T
Think I really must have a go at those sort -keep saying I will. Got in right pickle with the ones I'd made -got some pens from tescos and some of them were too thick to go through the ribbon loop I'd put on them and one - well got to start again with that one..........luckily I hadn't got very far with it -I was putting the pen inside and they're all too chunky and the note holder won't shut without showing a bit of the post it notes -hope I've explained that ok.
Still, did get a couple of little gift bags made for coaster calendar and a little purse for grandaughter..........and finished off a notebook I'd covered in fabric with a flower on the front. Quite pleased with that.
Can't wait now for shops to open on Tuesday so I can get some cork and do something with my place mats............:j
