Hi Jen, welcome to the thread :) I would love to see a picture of the Sonic cross stitch when you're done, I'm going to do a Mario one for my boyfriend and I love geeky crafts :) You could put the mini sparklers in an Ice cream hamper with some plastic funky sundae glasses, long spoons and sauce/sprinkles? Or just use them around the table at Christmas when you're pulling the crackers?

rainmac - what a brilliant idea :T Think I'll have to have a go at that.
Saw some place mats in charity shop this morning -50p each, individual ones with different designs and couldnt think what I'd do with them............hope they're still there tomorrow..........I could do a bigger calender and get one of those stickon things for the back so it would hang up...............:j

Saw the idea on someone else's blog and thought it looked lovely ;). I am going to make loads for little presents. Maybe co-ordinating with a coaster post-it note holder?

Was off work today and was raiding the loft when I came across a book I started for my daughter 2 years ago, my book was bought but thought it would be a nice idea for new parents/ baby hampers. It's called a "Parents Book" and it has lots of sections for both the father and mother to fill in for instance:

    Sections are:

    My Childhood
    my favourite sweets were
    my favourite toy
    my favourite cartoons
i spent my holidays here etc

    Teenage years
    First record I bought
    First date
    First job
    Worst teacher etc

    Adulthood- you get the idea

Then there are sperate sections with questions like-
What are your dreams for me
What is the best piece of advice you could give me
your fondest memories of me etc

The book I have is really modern all grey pictures and silver but I'd really like to make another one for my daughter and son with pockets etc for pictures/cinema tickets/momentos and decorate pages with scraps etc and though it could be a thoughtful idea for a baby present. Most people think of buying a book to record a baby's special moments but never the parents and I'd have loved my parents to have done one to know more about them!

I got some glasses from Morrisons a couple of months ago, I think it was £2 (or bit less) for 2 glasses.
