yippee - bear with me -not familiar with cm measurements, was brought up with ft. and inches.....lol
I've got some very small flowerpots we had with some seeds, they;re bright red, and I'm going to fill them with birdseed, cut a circle of perspex to cover the seed so it doesn't spill out, then stick a little Robin on the top, the general idea being that it's Robins Christmas Breakfast - thought it'd be a nice idea for children (or even adults)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • hmm.. mite be an idea for my stepdad but he is the only person in the family who doesnt follow superstitions or is scared of birds lol!
i did think of something like a pot of gold but maybe call it 'pot of festive cheer' or something along those lines, but i have no idea what to fill it with! pmsl!
its true what they say - its only a bargain if your ever going to use it! lol

btw 15cms is about 6inches if i remember correctly from school!

In Spain our main gifts are given on 12th Night..Tres Reyes...3 Kings. Naughty children recieve Carbon de Reyes¨...Kings Coal which are small sacks of black sugar lumps. We have 3 Kings Parade and one of the floats is always the Black Sugar Mine, strange how these sorts of things get interpreted in different countries

How cool are these little fella's? I have posted this on the Thrifty gifty thead, but thought I would post here as its a chrismas craft, Hope you don't mind

    2368_main_candycanemain.jpg?1249113466

    Materials:

Striped (preferably diagonal) red and white fabric about 2 ft x 1 ft
    White thread
    Polyester stuffing
    Sewing machine
    Two googly eyes
    Small piece of red yarn
    Craft glue
    Scissors

    Instructions:

Fold the fabric in half so you have two layers of fabric with the wrong side facing you.
Sketch out your candy cane design around 10 inch in length and around 2 inch wide. Cut out your cane allowing a little extra for sewing.

Sew your two pieces together leaving a gap at one end. Turn your cane the right way out.

Using the toy filling stuff your cane as firm or as soft as you would like it.

Finish up by sewing the end of the cane closed and gluing on your candy cane face.
