R4DS Card Not Working - www.memorybits.co.uk

I bought two R4DS cards from memorybits.co.uk a couple of weeks ago, neither of them appear to function. They get stuck on the black loading screen. There is a similar thread, but the problem was rectified with two downloads. Has anyone else got a similar problem? Could it be two defective cards, a defective batch or a problem I've caused myself with the formatting of the card? Anyone else experienced similar?

I had the same issue - now resolved - check to see if the cards are sd or like mine sdhc
if they are sdhc they need different software.

I also had to completely reformat the micro sd before the new software would worklps

Hi Gordon, thanks for the advice. Went to memorybits own website to download the correct software. Of the two cards I have, one doesn't appear to be loading properly and it's hit and miss as to whether it will work. I've emailed memorybits to see if there could be a problem with it or if it's just me! Thanks again.

Hi memorybits are usually ok about this stuff, they will ask you to send it back once they can ascertain that the 2 cards are faulty they will re-send you 2 more or you may ask for a full refund.
I have dealt with this company before and they are usually very good.

Had the same problem but managed to download the software off Memory bits website and managed to get the R4's to work! Hope you get it sorted out!

When you format the cards, are you sure you are formattting them as FAT32 ?

the default format is FAT.

Try formatting again ensuring you choose FAT32 from the frop down menu

If the r4ds wont work with the FW from the r4ds site then they arnt real R4 carts. Hence why memory bits are offering the FW from their site as an alternative.

You need v1.22 for an sdhc or v1.18 for sd.

On the box it will have a web address fro the software or let me know and I will send link to you

HI, Have you managed to resolved your problem yet because I have Just recieved my r4 sdhc card from memorybits.co.uk and have the same problem, have spoken to live chat and they went through the process with me to put fw on but it did nothing in my ds lite, on a different ds lite it just says loading but nothing else happens.I have been told by memorybits to return it for a replacement.How do we know if memorybits are selling us fake cards or not? My box says on it made in china which i read on a review at memorybits that these boxes are the fake cards, is this true?

I thought (from very little research) that ALL R4 cards are now fake, the people who made them initially...now don't!

well I bought it after reading very good reviews on it at memorybits.co.uk, Im still trying to resolve the problem as I really dont want to have to go through the processs of waiting again from sending it back, I paid £20 for it and can't afford to lose it, memorybits have stated that its non refundable
