Depends.
What spec is your machine? What operating system are you using?
A bit more info and we should get you up and running!0 -
Thanks for the speedy reply. I am not a techno person, so please bear with me. The i-pod is a slimline nano. The computer is windows xp

Right, let's start at the beginning then. Can you open iTunes and see any music you've added to the library, or will it not install from the download?0
-
you havent installed the kazaa codec pack have you?0
-
First thing we need to know is as above has it actually run from the download and installed. Second thing is do you have USB2 ports on your PC? We had issues with out Ipods on one of our PCs as it was quite old and only had USB1 ports on the mobo.0

Thanks for all the replies. I will try my best with regards to the answers.
Bingo bang itunes is downloaded but will not open.
Custardy don't think we have downloaded that version, where will it say just to double check?
Paulk there are 4 ports on the back will need further info to verify if they are usb2 ports. Our computer is pretty ancient. We are going out for the rest of the day. OH is going to try again and if it doesn't work we are going to try it at a friends to see if its our computer.

You haven't downloaded the Apple Mac version have you? The file you downloaded should be called 'iTunesSetup.exe'. Anything else is wrong.
Go here:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Under 'Download iTunes 8 Now' om the left it should say 'Windows XP or Vista'. If it does click 'Download Now' and you will get the correct version.0 -
There are also alternatives to itunes (though Apple would have you believe that itunes is your only option.
Might be worth a try.....0 -
What are the alternatives?
Thanks
