Happened to me... I had to open mine and put the small wire from the ariel back on... Theres nothing to it..

If the internal wire is off this still wont work as its wired through it...

i wonder how many people are still using these?

mine is still going strong with the original maps etc.

what a bargain!!

i have a newer pda (mda vario II). is there any way of connecting the two to use google maps or ms live search as the maps on the micromaxx are so outdated i sometimes have problems with new housing developments.

Ive got TOMTOM v6 running on mine no problem... Been an excellent piece of kit with just a few minor niggles..

has anyone had to repair the power socket on one of these?

Yup.. Had to resolder it but the only way to get it 100% was to sit it at a slight angle from the PCB and I had to cut a little of the casing away.
