I have a micromax mdppc 150 with tomtom 5 on it. However, after reinstalling it on the pda, I've lost the satellite signal and can't get it back.

    Any Ideas?

    cheers

Sadly mine has a flat battery and fails to charge, anyway from memory you have to set the GPS settings to:

    NMEA 4800 & Serial Cable on SP2

Expose the system to the sky, it will take some time (30 mins) to get sorted so you need to be a little patient.

    Hope this helps

Hello, I have a Micromaxx version of this PDA but when I use it in the car (as a gps system) with the supplied charger the battery seems to drain after about 45 mins of use. Am I doing something wrong or do I have a faulty charger? What happens is that after about 30 minutes the voice messages stop coming, then the display goes very slow. If I stop and turn the PDA off it usually doesn't come back on. The charging light always comes on but I am sure the battery is being drained somehow. It has done this from new by the way but as I rarely use it in the car it hasn't been a problem but I am going on holiday next week and could do with it working really. Thanks in advance for any help.
    Ian.
  • Can anyone who bought the Micromaxx (& kept the paperwork) tell me how to get a warranty repair done?

    Thank you

Ring the Medion hotline first: 0870 7270370

They will give you the address of the regional service centre where you send it with the sales receipt (you have kept it haven't you? ;) )

I've changed the 'home address' on my satnav to that of an adjacent street, after seeing 'The Real Hustle' episode where the bogus valet parking attendant used that feature to easily and quickly find and rob the home.

It works better than V5. a lot smoother scrolling and seems to keep up better. Included speed camera database is also spot on...(for my area anyway). Maps are still out of date though... 5 roads that have been built near me for over 2 years are still not on it.. And a complete housing area is still not there (built 5 years ago)
