Ah SMF2 - one of the biggest inspirations on this board is your front page, so that's praise indeed!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

we were really looking foprward to seeing the MFi3T2 chart for this month given the major change we have managed - ARGGGGGGHHHHH must have messed up on the google docs in some way as we have not been credited with the difference. Annoyed to say the least, but at least means massive change to show on the next update!!!
Managed to get ISA's full for this year and hoping the BOE rate stays the same for a bit longer as it's doing the balance reduction no end of good.
I calculate that we are paying around £70 in interest per month at the moment but have opted for ISA's at a benefit of around another 1.5% - therefore holding cash there until mortgage rates rise, at which point we would probably opt to pay that off the mortgage too.

Not posted since June update, expecting to see £75,600 at month end.
Mrs RT has now taken up the option to leave her job - the work we have done so far in getting the mortgage down via OP's means no pressure to go and find something else. That was a major part of deciding to try to get to MF status in the first place!
Still undecided on whether to use more savings to reduce further - working on the basis of wait and see so far.

Just been given a lesson by my daughter - forget the embarrasment, she took our penny jar into the bank and paid it straight into my account. £27.79 now sent as an OP on the mortgage. Also managed some e baying to clear a further £100 !!!

Struggled for time in recent months and had forgotten how good this site is for getting your mind firmly back into being MF, some fantastic stories on the MFi3T2 challenge - well done!!

  • Right, EDF have removed our current deal and offered their standard tarrif as replacement. Just used the link to U switch and have set in motion a change over to Eon.
Seems like reviews on every supplier are very mixed - at least if we turn out to get the nightmare supplier our free case of wine will help !!!
Should at least hold down our monthly payments and help with the OP's !

  • Ebaying of some no longer equired stuff just netted £59.58 and sent on instant payment to our lender. OP's are addictive, if you never had it in the first place then you'll never miss it !
