My travel is abroad so no company car for me, and the XF is an incentive but I don't think I could live with paying more than £25k so it'll have to be a 2yr old I think in 2011 when we have saved it up.
RT, you now know the next comment....
... as you only need to fund one car in the family, then obviously your OH will have to have the XF or the XJ, or you could even watch her vanish in a flash in the XKR :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Methinks that conversation may not take place0 -

As in TPA's thread have a look at <http://jaguarauc.2ndbyte.com/?&Nav=%208238&page=5&sortResults=RetailPrice|1&stocklistID=823564&MREQ=app_viewVehicleDetails&savedview=0> for a good diesel (42mpg combined cycle), family size 4 door with good performance, although you may want to discuss with your OH passing your car to her and having this one?

October OP has just left at the now reduced rate of £400 per month - this has made the expected repaymnet date move back out to 2018 and is more than a little irritating.
However, it was the right decision. We decided to replace Mrs RT's car and spent a lot more than previously planned - not going to say what it is at the moment given potential link to us and financials included sorry ! - but she's chuffed to bits !
I was able to confrim with lender that we were just over £120K last month, but with this latest OP we are now below that - next target met :T
Aim is to restock savings but be back to OP, or at worst offsetting equal amount, by middle of next year.
Having just read in the last few days the posts by TPA and Maz it confirmed we have made the right decision on the car in keeping the balance right between Repayment and enjoyment.RosieTiger - Highest £242,000 Feb 2004

Great to hear you've moved ahead with the car. I'm hoping OH's passes its MOT next month and remains reliable for a while longer; it's a 10yr Focus estate but she only does about 5000 miles per year and due to taking Brownies camping etc she does need a larger vehicle than a hatch, so not looking forward to replacement time but it will need to be in the frame soon, but with the annual mileage it will likely be a 5yr old car.0 -

I seem to have been away from this for some time - the beauty of regular OP's though is that the show still goes on in the background without you noticing !
We are into increasing savings at the moment, but having kept the OP at £400 per month we are still seeing an impact.
From my spreadsheet we are now at just over £117,000 left and will hit the £116,000 mark in December.
From when we signed up for the MFW 2009 challenge in December 2008, when we thought our balance was around £146,000, we will have reduced our mortgage by £30,000.:T
That's got to be good !
