• Dum de dum, has there ever been such a long month in the history of the world!
I get paid my pittence next wednesday but it's a wait until 6th Oct for all redundancy stuff.... and I'm flying out on the 5th:rolleyes: oh well guess it can all wait for my return.
That is when the real being clever and creative with my finances really starts:o

• Dum de dum, I'm just treading water moneywise until next week
It's all really boring except I will be diving next week :j
I realise people may think I'm mad but this is such a cheap trip less than £200 including all diving and I have negotiated with my employer to work one of my official holiday week for them and am getting money for that- and I really need a break honestly.
I will take laptop next week and try to sort out bills as and when and will also keep posting, even if I am the only one reading.
My husband has been out of work not for two weeks and has not even mentioned looking for a job:eek::mad::eek: just mentioning it would be good:confused:

• OBNW .... Go and have a fantastic time diving - you have done remarkably well this year and at that price, no-one could think you were mad for going.

Men don't think the same way as us - he just needs a swift kick up the rear.... or alternatively, leave the local paper open at the jobs page, with some ringed (doesn't matter if he would do them or not!!) lol

Treading water is better than drowning!!

Take care, Nats x

• OK here we go again!
I just typed out a long post but it timed out
I’ve not done a proper post for ages as I’ve had a lot to think about.
The thing is Mr OBNW and I would prefer to live apart (sad but true) however we have 3 great kids not working (two at uni and one doing an internship) and a lot of debt so we were trying to get rid of the debt so we could sell up when the kids are stable.
In September Mr OBNW lost his job, the good news was our debt went from approx 40k to about 16k but my wages and his jobseekers does not cover our monthly outgoings. We are about £800pm short however I am hoping that in Jan a insurance policy will start to pay out £300 pm and we do still have £7k so we should be ok for about ten months.
Mr OBNW does not seem terribly motivated to find another job, I think he will not manage to match his previous salary of £0k and does not realised that he will have to work for possibly half this that would keep us all afloat as there are lots of highly qualified kids that will work for less.

Anyway that’s my latest instalment fells better now I’ve done the sums and written this out.
