I forgot to add Mothercare and a holiday company, maybe Thomas Cook.

Another one bites the dust:
Fashion Chain USC in administration
Purveyor of chavvy 'designer labels' to the masses - think Fred Perry, Burberry, Ben Sherman, Lacoste etc. Forgot they were still around, glad they are gone TBH.
43 of the chain's 58 stores have been sold on in negotiations by the administrators, saving around 1,100 jobs. The remaining 15 stores will be operated temporarily by the administrators, with 300 jobs potentially at risk.poppy100 -

Just back from Wimbledon town centre. It's getting a bit scary looking out their. Woolies is gone, as are two travel agents (one of which has been replaced by a factory sales shop of really cheap looking clothing.) The Pier shop is almost bare and The Officers Club was empty.
Morgan was also closed, and there were no signs explaining why. Are they in trouble? (I can't understand that shop anyway, they have the cheapest nastiest clothing at fairly expensive prices.) There was very little in Whittards and a lot of clothing stores had 75%+ sales but the only places that were busy were Morrisons and Sainsburys.
And there were no tiny pickles in any of the supermarkets. But that's not recessionary I just wanted some to eat with my half price pate.

Morgan might be closed for the simple reason that a lot of shops are still closed for Christmas. I saw several examples of this, some with signs in the windows, others without.
Very busy in Cambridge today all over.0 -

Hope you find another job very soon indeed....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

One Post Office I walk past sometimes in central London is at the back of a Rymans....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Just for my two pence, here are my predictions for the 15+ into administration
WH Smith
Boots
Clarks
.
Why these three? All seem to me (not that I'm any expert) to be well-run shops, selling decent stuff with OK customer service.
And Smugs must do quite well out of all their railway station shops, flogging choc bars and papers, etc....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
