Sorry, can't find the post to reference back to, but I agree with NDG, if you have hundreds of stores, you are a major retailer. According to the Universities jobs website Prospect.ac.uk, there are 450 retailers employing two million out of the three million people working in retail in the UK. Quite an interesting (if a bit out of date given recent circumstances) look at who the big employers are per retail sector. Can be found here...

Wasnt Morgan in trouble a few years ago or I might of imagined it?
Shelleys has already gone under
Maybe Faith or Barratts might shut
Clarks has a bit of a following so not sure about them, but then again they did close Ravels.
Howver Im just using what shops seem busy & seem to have continous sales, no data to back it up with.
Another shop that may go under is Past Times. Over priced clutter0 -

Just found the link

wasnt going mad then!
Had a quick read. Its really horrible how the workers are at the end of the queue to get paid. The share holders took a risk/gamble when they invest money, yet they are first in the line to get their money. The workers arent taking that risk when they come in to work everyday.
My OH worked for a small computer shop. The owner went bankrupt & it was the shareholders that got some money while the workers including my OH were out of pocket a couple of months wages. Luckily my OH told his boss that he was going to take his wages in stock (computer parts) on the last day when it was evident that there wasnt a hope in hell that anyone was going to get their wages despite the boss still fobbing him off!
Soon after, his boss was seen swanning around in his fancy car.0 -

I number of Barratts in Ireland are having closing down sales. I think that at the moment they are just closing poorly performing stores as not all state they are closing.0 -
