Indebt, I do not envy you at all, it must be hellish at this time of year. I avoided supermarkets until I had to go to Asda yesterday for a few bits and couldn't believe my eys. I really think there must be a sprout and potato shortage and people forgot to tell me!! Have a good day at work.

I'm ready, wrapped and waiting for midnight when I can put the kids pressies under the tree.:D
  • Eventful night last night by the looks of it!
    Hope you're ok Spud!

I'm braving the White Rose shopping Centre later (am I mad?) then it's off to my Mother in law's annual Christmas Eve BBQ - yes you read that right!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Morning all :grouphug:

I am out of energy so slinking off to hide under a rock until Jan 5th, okay? :)

Enjoy your day Linda, I wouldnt imagine the shopping centre to be quite so busy today as most poeple will be getting the last minute food shopping done............I wouldnt like to be anywhere near an Asda or Tesco today.

You will probably get better weather today for your BBQ than our on our average July summers day:rolleyes: although the turkey legs will take a bit of cooking on there:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Doc phoned at 8am this morning:eek: but he says her white blood count is up....however, as she has this rotten flu virus then it could be that..she has to go back in six weeks to have repeat bloods done..

She also has a problem with a lump at the front of her neck which keeps coming up so I rang back and whilst they can't discuss her individual case (as she is 18 and officially not my baby anymore:o ) they don't think its anything to worry about. so phew I am officially not stressing anymore!!

She has an appointment with the eye consultant on the 2nd Jan at 9am so at least I can bug the consultant then if I am still worried.

If you think its hard being the mother of a child, being the mother of an 18 year is REALLY hard. You want to protect them and you can't:o

  • morning.

Evanesco - lots of positive vibes for this afternoon for you and your nan.

So, it's Christmas Eve, Aunt Flo arrived yesterday, I'm croaking with cold and OH doesn't want to go out tonight (didn't think he would, but thought I'd ask - the local pub won't be that busy) and I've got to spend the day AQA'ing :( but hey - it's CCHHRISSTMMMMMMMMMMMMASSSSSSSSSSS!!

And the reason OH hasn't asked what I want yet (from last night)? He hasn't bought anything yet..... ...he is currently sitting on the sofa and says he is going into town today......
