The mail's slow here - even during the first week in December I noticed that one card posted 1st class from 40 miles away took 5 days and another first class from took 4. Quite a few have been delivered without a postmark too.

Something I've noticed all year round here though is that when I order from Moonpig, they're sent the same day 1st class but I don't ever receive them next day (which I know RM don't promise to do anyway now) when sent to our home address. However, if I have them delivered to my husband's office which is in a different delivery office area they're always with him the following morning.

Remember it will also depend on when the companies get their mail picked up. If for example, moonpig get their mail collected at 3pm and u order at 4pm it adds an extra day onto the postage, not making excuses but it does happen.

I've been amazed with the speed of some of the deliveries, I've had a couple of items shipped late in the day still arrive the next morning.

Stuff from play seems to be taking an extra day (for me), but apart from that it does seem they aren't running much behind on packages/cards.

The International seems erratic this year! Could be either end.
I posted 6 cards Sat the 13th to the USA, and know 2 haven't got there (waiting to hear about the others). Also out of 2 parcels and 3 cards from USA waiting on one of each, even though that parcel was posted before the one that made it!

A birthday card was posted 1st Class from Nottingham on the 9th and didn't arrive until the 22nd Dec! (My Birthday was the 13th).

As for the normal post its seems to be delivered in the afternoons mostly.
