chances of reaching anywhere on Saturday after being posted tomorrow, well it is the time of miracles i suppose
special delivery paying for saturday delivery would be an option0 -

Not here in Lancashire. Our post is better than normal - can we have Christmas every month please? Usually we don't get any post on Thursdays (the normal posties day off) and twice as much on Fridays, but we're getting it daily at the moment. Also, we usually don't get it until early afternoon, which as a business is a real pain, but we've been getting it mid morning which is a huge help to us. First class post is still being delivered next day. For once, I have to say I'm impressed with Royal Mail this year.0 -

well our office is performing better because they are throwing overtime around like sweeties
or should i say they were
now we are £000's over budget and management are flapping
this will be clawed back next year using lapsing, cuts in hours, new start part timers etc etc
as an example we were told if we 'signed up' to work our days off we would get 3 days notice if not needed
i wes told as i left for delivery on saturday i wasnt needed(i had already organised &paid! for extra nursery cover) to cover my Monday day off
i go into work today to most of Mondays mail and packets as they stuck some new start on my duty. its to hard a duty for a new start and they know it!0 -
I've noticed quite a few letters and cards without the stamps being franked. Noticed usual bills are running late too!0

Have had a mixed bag this year. Some stuff sent from work first class which has taken about 3-4 days to arrive. Longer than normal.
But had a parcel sent second class on friday, turned up monday! Which is quicker than normal!
But have had lots and lots without the stamps being franked, but ah wellGreen and White Barmy Army!0 -
The unfranked ones are probably hand sorted, even if they are addressed properly and not in dark envelopes, they are sorted by hand as their is just too many to deal with, even with the sorting machines running constantly. We have been sorting by hand for the past 3 weeks to try and take some of the pressure off.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

I posted some large-ish jiffy envelopes containing gifts at about 11.00 yesterday morning and they were all received today, one to the Channel Isles.
I was very impressed, considering the counter assistant in the post office told me they wouldn't get there before Christmas. I wonder now whether she was just hoping I'd pay extra for Special Delivery!
Just heard that stamps are going up soon though - 39p 1st Class, 30p 2nd.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
