  • I have a small business of car repairs in essex.I was contacted by a company named streetbeat advertising.I kept on ignoring them but one day my wife picked up the phone and she agreed for the advertisement.Within two days they sent an vat invoice but they never sent the proof of the advertisement or anything.after a month they phoned us and asked for the unpaid bill i refused them for the advertisement.they said that they had the telephone recording and actually they played my wifes recording but still i insisted i dont need the advertisement.I knew they were recording my conversation also i told them i can only pay by cheque if they wish but they insisted on card payment which i refused.I asked for there office adress which also they refused.i told them to f*** off they threatned me to take me to the court i told them you r welcome .So dont panic if they call you just dont pay them they cant do anything.I have done a lot of research on them they dont have an official address they dont do any advertising. There landline tel. nos are actually internet phone nos so they are hard to trace .Any advertising company which doesnt tell you their official adress is a fraud so beware of them they just threaten you to take your money they cant take you to court.
  • I parked my car on a road which was not a private road a black man came out of nowhere and clamped my car and said it was a no paking zone.To my astonishment there were no signs no yellow lines or red lines.he demanded 200 pounds release fee i asked him that there was no notice anywhere of no parking he showed me a small notice on the fence.I saw there were five more cars clamped an old man in front of me straight away paid 150 pounds in cash to him and got his car released.I went hysterical I took out jack rod from my car the black man sensing trouble ran away and bought four of his mates with a recovery truck until then i had phoned my workers who had come there with a generator and and angle grinder in front of them i cut the wheel clamp of my car and all other cars.Somehow the police arrived there and calmed us down and when police questioned all of us and them people them all people turned out be illegal immigrants and were taken away by police. So next time if you see something like that dont panic just take out a jack bar from your car.
  • They will eventually take you to the county court, it happened to me.
I disputed it with the court by returning the section of the claim that allows this and filled it out with all the evidence, etc. The court ruled in favour of the advertising company despite my quoting the sale of goods act, the very poor quality of the advert, the lack of contact/information given, etc, etc, etc.
Ended up costing me far more than if I'd just paid it in the first place.
These people are SCUM and the law does not protect us from them.

I gather this is in England / Wales
The law is different in Scotland- only councils and relevant authorities (police etc) are permitted to clamp here
Clamping (other than that above) is classed as theft and extortion and the police don't put up with that stuff.
    baldly going on...
