Sold advertising on phone - want to cancel, can I?

Weinstein are pursuing me also. Have received a very basic note, not a letter advising that they will be calling at my home on Wednesday. I've been trying to get them off my back since September. Have told Trading Standards and two police forces but WW won't leave me alone. If I pay up I know they'll still hassle me as they do so many others.
What on earth do I do about Wednesday as I won't be at home but my elderly sister will be? HELP!0 -
I was victim on their scam two years ago. They kept sending me invoices for an ad I hadnt booked, they even played me a fake tape recording of my assistant apparantly placing the order. They phoned me twice a week for a year threatening me with court action, but when we found details of the scam on the internet we just kept telling them to take us to court. In the end they got fed up.
Due to this incident I would never agree to buy any advertising over the telephone. The proof they sent was atrocious quality with basic words spelt incorrectly and awful art work and no local schools had ever received the publication. A shocking scam who target small businesses..0 -
I ignored their letter about intended court action and now I am told someone is coming round so that is a new tactic and one I cannot take the risk of them carrying out. I just don't know what to do. The police say its a civil matter and if they have a bailiff's warrant then they can enter my house and take goods - even though I don't owe them anything!!0

they wont come, they told me the same at least a dozen times!0

These people also tend to say either you have advertised with them before or you agreed to advertise when they called a few months previously , and they always have some sort of social conscience theme going . One time the bloke on the other end of the phone insisted that I had agreed to advertise and they had the the phone call taped ,and they would sue .............still waiting lolVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

A bailiff can only enter your house if you let him in or if you leave a window or door unlocked. If a bailiff calls NEVER let them in for ANY reason!0 -

An elderly relative lives with me. I cannot ensure all doors and windows will be locked or he won't let someone in.
What proof does a Bailiff need. Should I have received a court notice or anything first?0 -

A bailiff won't simply turn up "out of the blue". A bailiff can only be instructed if the matter has actually gone to court and a CCJ has been issued against you. I'm pretty sure that even then they have to give a warning letter with 7 days notice of bailiff action.0 -
I had a notice of intended court action back in November but heard nothing more.
If there had been something going on in court would I not have received further communication - and by recorded delivery/special delivery - to be sure I received it?
Is there any way in which I can find out whether there has been a court action without be "knowing" as such or can that not happen?0 -

Contact the court direct, i bet they have nothing on record!!!
these "companies" use the online court application ,print the forms out and press cancel before the case is submitted. it's one of their special scare tactics.
Contact tapa as suggested in previous posts they're very goodProud to be dealing with my debts
