Just been watching downloads of series 24.....ooh it's so good. Had to make myself stop though as just watched the first three episodes in a row, will watch another in bed tonight. So addictive!
I have never watched 24 on tv, always on DVD. Each time I buy a series, I don't leave my house all weekend, and totally ignore t'other half while I watch as much as I can all at once!! Apparently when I do this I must dream of being some kind of super-powered CTU agent as I kick like a biatch when I'm asleep :rotfl:

24 is awesome, just ignore anything else you have to do and watch it.

Thanks Primula - I am still beaming can't quite believe it but have to keep it in mind and work out ways to save and up that dmp payment made :D

Fresian - I've watched all six now, finished them off in bed! Series 7 is different but it is getting SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! I couldn't wait for the box set, as soon as OH downloaded through itunes I had to watch them. I'm like you, don't surface and often known to have 24 weekends in my flat....love it :j

  • 'One day at a time'......is something someone just wisely said to me on another thread and he's totally right! I am a typical, write loads of plans, never do them and then feel like a failure....they cycle has repeated itself since as far back as I can remember  So when it was written it really struck home - thanks Edinburgher :T

I know my aim in all of this is to become debt free but baby steps and lots of hard work, determination and sensible decisions will be the only way to get me there.

I am changing the thought process since I turned 18, some 12 years ago so I am not magically going to do this overnight and I think that I have only just realised this today :o

So, i'm going to try and ease up on myself and not get so down about the debt but focus on the positives of what I am doing, concentrate on my spending habits and see where I can make changes or face and deal with those areas I know I struggle such as food shopping and magazine buying  . I will do this!

Today was NSD number 2 :j Not aiming for a particular amount as don't feel ready to commit to actual days but am noting them as they happen and feel good for another one :D Also worked 8 hours overtime this weekend so feeling pleased with myself,

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, day off for me tomorrow so looking forward to a lie in :p xx

Jolly, do you shop in Tesco? If so, why not use your clubcard vouchers for a magazine subscription - they have some good ones. It would be a wee treat for you coming through your door and really wouldn't be costing you anything. ;)

Ooh, good idea. I did this by saving up my iPoints, and really enjoyed getting my Marie Claire through the post every month.
  • Payday today :j

Nothing interesting to report sadly, lots to pay out unfortunately and lots of travelling for work to London  Thank goodness I did the overtime!

Have started being good, batch cooked my own pasta sauce and made 9 portions. All came to less than the cost of our normal jar of pasta sauce so that's 9 for the cost of 1 - woo hoo:T

Plan on doing some more have some fab recipes from friend, all natural ingredients and all from scratch. So i'll be super healthy as well as cutting the cost of food. I'm really enjoying being in the kitchen too - i've become a domestic goddess in every sense lately. Thankfully it's taking my mind of the debt too. I have been putting a lot of pressure on myself lately.

Nice fab day with OH tomorrow - we've brought one of the Valentines meals from M&S....yummy :D

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening xx

  • Happy Valentines Day

Well today has been lovely, chilling out with OH and basically just had one of those days where decide what to do when we want. Nothing planned. Tonight we are having a lovely M&S valentines meal deal - yum yum!

Back to reality tomorrow - overtime. Should be more excited about it but i'm not. Fed up with working.

Nothing much else to report, xx

    Hi Jolly
Hope you enjoyed your M&S valentines treat. That was good value wasn't it. Hope all is going to plan for you. I, like you still struggle with my shopping but one step at a time. Managed to get my home insurance which was up for renewal down from £208 to £95 and I went through Quidco so hopefully will get £25 but it's now showing yet.
Good luck with the healthy eating. Plan to start mine (again!) tomorrow. Have joined the red/green support thread for Slimming World so going to dig out my books later and have a go at that again.
Hope you not working too hard today!

  • Well that's 4hrs overtime done today- every little helps :T

Primula - nice to hear from you :D Good luck on that healthy eating. A friend of mine does the same as your doing and swears by it. Well done on the home insurance :T Wish I could cut down on utilities or change but it's in our rental contract we're not allowed to change suppliers

    So plans for today -
    • overtime
    • washing (load in as we speak)
    • batch cooking (to be done this evening)
That's about it really - this month I am going to try and concentrate on cutting back on the spending with shopping etc. Hoping my batch cooking will help with that. Plan on making a breakfast granola, lentil soup and veg spag bowl (all freezable!) tonight which should see me through. Had some of my pasta sauce (with pasta obviously) for lunch today, it was yummy!

Aiming for NSD today too - should be able to as no reason to go out. Although OH and I may go for a nice walk in country park later.

  • Very excited as about to go visit the new Ikea that's just opened in Southampton tonight.....woo hoo :j Plan on picking up some nice new storage containers to store all my batch cooking. Don't know where my new found ability to cook from scratch has come from but I love it - find it SO relaxing

    Will update properly soon xx
