As this is mostly a shopping thread, I'm moving it to the shop but don't drop board where there are other similar threads.
  • I go where the bargains are but I try to get the best quality for least price:

Waitrose (It's next to where I'm studying so I go 2 - 3 times a week and seek out the reduced prices, dropping the weekly shop reduced our normal spend).
M&S just for the meal deals.
Tesco for wine and diesel (offers and points)
Used to also be the co-op, local grocer and market until we moved a few months ago. :(

    Clothes, toys etc
    Ebay
    Car boot sales
    charity shops
the odd treat via the Boden sale or voucher offers.
    TK Maxx
    Clarkes village/outlet
Any online offers found via MSE (really helped this Christmas).
    Lush is my weakness.

Holiday= one UK cheapie a year found via Ebay.

Getting back into 'Boots-ing' and always top up daughters mobile there for points.

Very rarely buy on the High Street, just basics like stationary, socks and underwear and get shocked by the price of clothes. The High Street won't miss me b'cos I only spend there occasionally.

i dont hate BTL, neither do i hate tesco asda etc

i understand from ur previous posts that u r a BTL landlord. hope i am correct.

then why do u hate tesco asda etc. just wondering.

We have a house that we have rented out for a while. Never really intended to 'buy to let', just found ourselves wanting to move but didn't want to sell our house so we rent it out. Probably plan to move back there at some point.

I won't go in to detail, but with regard to Tesco and Wal-Mart I don't shop there as I simply don't agree with their business models, their ethical / social practices, the way they treat their staff or anything else about the way they operate. Tesco is pretty much the only business I can think of that I would like to completely dissapear, I don't like anything about it.

    For food shopping it's Waitrose

For nearly everything else it's John Lewis.

And a scattering of other retailers in CMK.
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!

Food and wine - Sainsbury's and Lidl's as they are the only supermarkets in my small town and I don't drive, although I would choose Sainsbury's anyway,I don't like Tesco and Asda.

Veg - local organic box scheme

I am veggie so don't buy meat.

    Clothes - mainly M&S and Next,both online and in store,occasionally Primark :o

Dvd's - usually Amazon or HMV

    Hairdresser - local salon ( excellent )

I rarely buy electronics, but would choose local shop if I had to replace large item like freezer or washing machine because of their excellent service, nothing is too much trouble :T

    Cosmetics and toiletries - Boots
  • BOOKS- charity shops, car boot sales

CLOTHES- car boot sales (quite addicted), new look. only shop in expensive shops like river island and topshop in the sales.

    HEALTH AND BEAUTY - superdrug

and the mum buys FOOD from either tesco or asda.

    :)
BEST WINS - beyonce tickets, lfwe tickets, maybelline calendar and makeup, pair of legally blonde tickets x 3 :), tickets for valentine's day premiere, breakfast at tiffany's dvd, jaeger handbag and purse, sony digital radio, paul's boutique bag set.

WINS 2011 - £50 urban outfitters vouchers, lumie clear skin treatment (worth £149)
