Help!! Item sent to wrong address
Comments
-
You sent it to the correct address - the buyer had their address wrong in eBay, else why would they have changed it
Buyers problem

Thanks all.
The address is no longer an issue. the buyer has no problem collecting it.
Unfortunately, it has gone missing. Postalfarce can't tell me where it is. It's logged as being received from the customer at the PO, and nothing further.
I assume that once it turns up, I can claim back the extra costs that we paid for 24-hour Saturday delivery?

I'm afraid not, the ebay addres sis immaterial only the paypal one matters.I assume that once it turns up, I can claim back the extra costs that we paid for 24-hour Saturday delivery?
Yes you can, it is the standard claim form. However I am very concerned that they don't know where it is!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just checked the website again (they've not phoned me as promised, of course), and as of half an hour ago, the parcel is showing at my local depot, re-routed, had been missorted. Grrrrr. :mad:0

After much to-ing and fro-ing, and receiving an email on 23rd, saying the parcel would be delivered on 24th, it was lost again, and finally arrived with the buyer TODAY! Only 10 days late.
What fantastic service.0 -
I really didn't realise there was a difference between the Paypal and Ebay addresses??? I thought they were linked??? Whenever I have bought anything and followed the checkout process, I always change the delivery address to my parents' address in the ebay console as that's where I have stuff sent, then I follow the process through to payment in Paypal which maintains the details. I have also sent a lot of things and always work through the ebay console to cut delivery addresses... and never had a problem...

You can add as many addresses as you like to your paypal account, I have several in there so when I pay I merely choose the address I want the items sent to and that appears on the paypal notification to the seller.
AS a seller I never even look at the ebay address. I get my EOA emails and file them in one place without even opening them. Then I just wait for the paypal payments and package and address them for that. Anyone expecting me to send to an ebay address rather than a paypal one would be in for a shock.
It is worth remembering that buyers can do no form of reclaim through ebay for funds if goods fail to arrive, the only claim they have is via paypal and paypal require you to use the address supplied by them. Nothing to do with ebay at all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I shall make sure I check in future – I had no idea either. However, fortunately, the address wasn't actually an issue. The problem was just the carp service from Parcelforce.0

I use the Aimco programme (prints tickets etc), as I sell a bit on ebay, this picks up the ebay address, so unless the customer tells me that they want it going to a different address, thats where it is sent, 99% of the time this is not a problem, only had 1 or 2 people in a year say this was wrong, as the majority of people put a note on saying please deliver toXXX0

For me it's a point of principle and good practice to log into the paypal account to confirm payment has actually made it through. Once you've done that, it's really no sweat to check the address. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
