Buyer has emailed me. It has not been delivered and no card has been left. Some little boy is going to be very disappointed on Christmas Day.

She's not bothered about it going to the other address, though, fortunately. Just a shame it hasn't actually got there.

    Very good.

But, in fact, the address is not a problem at all. It's the fact that it's not been delivered. But hey, let's not let the facts get in the way of a good bit of trolling, hey? :rotfl:

Oh well, it is fully insured and you can give her a refund as it did not get there in time by gauranteed delivery time.

Dont sweat it. You did your best and we all make mistakes.
To put it in perspective, some kids in the world don't have a home , dont have enough food to eat etc on xmas day. I dont think some kid having to wait a bit longer for a present to come is the end of the world!

It went by Parcelforce, guaranteed next day. At huge expense.

Emails with the buyer reveal it's her ex's account and he is still there. So she can pick it up. I've told her I'll reimburse her expenses.

However, it's showing as in transit - collected from PO on 19/12. Nothing since. If they'd tried to deliver and there was no one home, would it show as a failed delivery in tracking?

Could it be worth contacting RM customer services to get a more up to date report on the parcel? Much better than the tracking info online.

    This was the number: 08457 740 740

Takes a while to get through the automated system but the humans, once reached, are quite helpful. I had a recorded item stuck in NI last week , tracking showed it as a failed 'return to sender' delivery. Once I got put through to complaints all was sorted, the pracel was actually in NI (holding warehouse) and arrived in 2 days.

Unfortunately the guarantee only covers the postal cost, so a claim can't be made for the full item cost , just the guaranteed postal bit. The only time an item is covered for delay is where consequential loss is paid for. They might not do that either if they show that delivery was attempted on the stated date.

I'm really sorry you won't get your pressie on time. I was so hoping it would excite you so much you just wouldn' find the time to turn your PC on. :p
