Morning all.
Nothing much happening today. Don't have anything to do for Xmas as I am not wrapping the few gifts I have and I don't have any cooking to do so aside from a jobsearch I am going to be really bored today. Dunno if I will bother making my mince pies yet or save them til after Xmas as I really should be losing weight. Not that the credit crunch and not having a penny income to spend on food won't do that for me. If I do make them I will have to search out the cutters and tins..
Currently defrosting haddock for lunch which I will probably have with some reduced asparagus which I have never had fresh before.Slightly decadent for lunch but then again it will be my only meal today.
This evening should be fun. My flatmate bought tickets for a double bill including "It's a Wonderful Life" - 2 classic films for £7 when at our local cinema it costs £8-9 at ANY time for one film often mediocre.
Hope you all have a good day. I have to nip out now to see if the dole have actually decided to pay out on my claim.I hope so or I will not have any money for food. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

Elderly and stained is the perfect carpet when you have LO's. I used to joke when my kidlets were small that I decorated in Early American Poverty and Children Style.(Yes, I'm originally from the states.) I'd much rather not worry about spills and stains on a new carpet and enjoy the children, messes and all. Besides, stains add character. You can look at the red jelly stain and laugh about the first time Lil Bear tried eating it on his own.
Hope your mood lifts hun.

justpeyton4now - thank you! With my sister in law I think I may be better off if I let her think that I am in a worse state than I am. If she thinks I am doing well she can get really unpleasant. I was thinking of sticking to ratty hair and stained jeans, but keeping the room in a state above the Karen Matthews standard of housekeeping.
I don't know what is the matter with me. I have posted elsewhere on this forum and I have been really snappy, which I hope isn't like me. I've even been cross with people and told them off! I'm sitting here, wallowing, when I've lots to do, and it is a nice day and I may be able to get little bear out and about.
Actually, what is wrong with me is my sister in law is coming round. I will not be fit for days I can feel chocolate coming on, in industrial quantities.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the recipe. I love Reese's peanut butter cups and haven't been able to find them since I landed here. I think I have everything except the peanut butter. May need to make a quick trip to the shop and pick some up.Take the first step.

Have some choccie before she comes as a preventative? They do say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. :rotfl:
I think we all have at least one relative like that. I've been "blessed" with several of them. I try to remember how grateful I am that I don't have to be around them 24/7. Not the easiest thing to remember when they're around, yet I can do the big sigh of relief when they're gone.
The other option is to just agree with everything she says. She won't have much to pick about then, tho she will probably still try. Or if you're feeling especially evil, kill her with kindness... It makes them wonder what you're up to. :rotfl:
Lots of hugs to you. You can make it through this evening.
