think we're almost done here, apart from a trip to the town hall to empty the bin...have now had an email saying it won't be done.
Mondays & Tuesdays lists are all donefirst time ever i think
dinner is bubbling in the oven (layers of spuds, bacon & cheese) so is gammon joint for boxing day. 6pm is movie time, we are all watching day after tomorrow, i love it when all of us squish on the sofa, doesn't happen often enough these days
but dh decided he'd stay in tonight (which also means i'm just finishing a beer  )

- sort out clothes / bedding / airbed / nappies / highchair etc to take

Lou x0 -
:j Thanks for the card parcel Lil_me, arrived safely:jAll cards now up round the mirror.Got home from work early to find OH had found the lighs for outside the house - so we are now officially Christmasssy.Pigpen - call 300300 and book a bulky collection, but you will probably have to wait a couple of weeks for the lads to pick them up, not the time of year to get the lads from HCC out in a hurry. You might be able to find someone who will take the cooker as scrap which would be quicker (though just leaving it outside often works - someone will nick it):rotfl:Had Xmas dinner today at work so just a sarnie for tea - OH is upstairs painting the ceiling in the spare room, so now I have to go and find all the food in the freezers and work out what to defrost when!!Seeyou all soon.Bye the way did Triker and family set off safely do we know? - I have only skimmed the thread so may have missed something.0

upstairs is now tidy and dusted, just needs a hoover and the shower in the ensuite needs cleaning. ........ will it ever end?We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

my birthday package arrived this morning xxxxx I shall wait.. and not rattle.. or squeeze.. or sniff it.. lol
Having a mini breather and cup of tea, having done pretty well on my own list today. In addition, I have had a succession of visitors - well, most of them for the teens, but some for me! I have also done my present delivery round, and am now feeling more relaxed and christmassy. I do still have a Christmas cake to make though... I have wrapped OH's presents, and will do the boys while they are out. leaving DD for tomorrow when she's out.
Thank you so much for the cards. The post arrived just before lunch, so I opened while I was having a quick snack, and have them all standing up on the table - make me feel very popular and cared for!! Vanilla, I have yours too.
:TAn especially big thank you to lil_me and her fantastic boys.:T
ps pigpen - I don't know the exact cookers you mention, but I bought a Belling Format 20 years ago, and am extremely happy with it. I shall probably replace it with another Belling. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Back home and feel exhausted - darn cold.
Got last few presents and bits of food we had eaten/missed off the list.
Boys went bowling also stopped off at GPs on the way home as DS2's finger was swollen and full of pus. GP lanced it - I was tempted but no sign of what had caused it and has given a script in case I need it for the infection - will wait and see.
Dinner cooking so just time to scoff that before I get DH and DS3 from the train station.
I have misplaced one present for DS1 apart from that I'm nearly wrapped - couple of bits in the loft which will wait until tomorrow night and a top I still have to stitch a badge on.
Few more adult bits to do.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Pigpen - we had a washing machine to get rid of. We left it at the front of the house after an aborted attempt to get it to the tip ourselves. The following morning there was a knock at the door and a dodgy looking guy asked if he could have it. He drives round all the estates here looking for scrap metal. Is there anywhere you could leave it in the hope someone takes it?
Soappie - you're as bad as me. Once I have a plan it gets done, lol. I have to say your fridge was quick even by my standards. You be careful getting it in the house please!
I've just wrapped dh's presents and put the camera batteries to charge (thanks for putting that on the list piggers). I'm having another rest now because i'm seriously knackered again. Why do you get so tired if you do anything after an op I wonder? It can't still be the anaesthetic. Another really good thing - I used to have a horrid condition similar to labrinthytis (sp?) where I had daily spins. It was made much worse by hormone fluctuations. Guess what? After spinning daily for about 8 years i've not had a spin since the op! How cool is that!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Sorry, i'm just making myself laugh each time I say....and another good thing!!!! I'll go back and hybernate.
Anyone running round like a blue bottomed fly - breath, smile and remember it will get done. If it doesn't - you won't combust. Oh and for next year, I seriously recommend surgery two weeks before christmas if you have a hubby who can cope. Talking of which, he's just taken the cat to the vet to see if her absess of two months has gone yet, poor cat, it keeps coming back and they're talking about removing her ear canal xx0 -
Not been able to get back on here as hubby finished work earlier than expected, still he's helped quite a lot & most things are done now, I'll update my list tomorrow morning, I need to finish off some knitting tonight.

rach - did the councillor get back to you? Or was that the email?
lil_me - I know what you mean with nieces/nephews. I wish my brother and sister showed the same consideration to my DD
G&B - are you feeling better luv? I think I might have 'lost' DH's credit/debit cards.
Dusty - I think it was Dusty. My mum always cooks the turkey on Christmas Eve.
pigpen - poor Tiddles. I cant think of anything to suggest that would help her.
Right - a quick HHI while BF [strike]makes a mess[/strike] makes the tea0 -
I've just had my first G&T whilst cooking risotto
. plan to chill for the rest of the evening and probably won't pop back on...see you all tomorrow when my only real jobs are to put the laundry that will hopefully be dry by then away, wrap 2 prezzies that can't be done til tomorrow and make the edible prezzies for DH's aunt and uncle. Apart from that i'm going to the pub for lunch and a pint or two...:D
Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Off to dinner at MIL's next door now. Just got to round up OH as he's downstairs watching tv and has probably fallen asleep on the sofa. He put the washing in the TD for me and managed to catch his thumb nail and it has pulled back and bled everywhere - he came upstairs holding it in the air and asking if we had any plasters - managed to put one on him, but I think the nail will fall off looking at the colour of it. Still don't know how he managed it.
See you all tomorrow as I don't expect I'll be back online tonight.
Night all, and sweet dreams.
