Kitchen cleaned to Level three, and I have also nipped downtown for a few last bits, and taken DD to local outlet, to buy her last two presents (trainers and a Lacoste t-shirt, so she had to try them on) I had to take her to the doctor's this morning, and she's on antibioticas again as she has a throat and ear infection... double doses of vitamin C and lots of early nights I think. I treated us to three DVD's as well in Zavvi, and we are watching The Holiday at the moment, which is the relaxation time I guess. I'll do some wrapping tomorrow morning, as I'm the only one in the house who can get up early!

:hello:Hi flower! Just in case you pop in again, Happy Christmas!

Valli - very pleased to hear that you are okay.

Time for a cup of tea I think, and a little knitting and film watching!

    :hello:Hi to all the newbies!

Since I can home from work I have braved Asda and Sainsbugs and anything I don't have now can go hang:rotfl:

I have rushed round the house like a dervish and have little to show for it though the pots are all washed and the kitchen is tidy.

Pigpen - so glad you managed to get the order sorted, while I wold be more than happy to let you loose in my freezer, for the first time in my life its full of meat which I understand is the one thing you can get hold of.;)

Mumoffour77 and Vanilla - got your cards today, Lil_me will I have to leave the postie a note or will the pack you sent fit through the letter box - would hate for all your cards to be stuck at the sorting office just cas I was out.

Off to help OH put the spare bed up and sort out the rooom, glad to see you back with us Valli.

Vali I'm pleased you're feeling a bit better

I've wrapped 5 presents, just need to label them and put under the tree - DS3 so wanted me to put a present for him under the tree and is convinced it will be a football - which it isn't.

Woolies was sad...empty shelves and cordoned off sections.

I was in town with DS this afternoon and couldn't bring myself to go into Woolies. I feel it's taking advantage, when we know people are going to be out of work. Plus, in all our moving around, whenever he first visited, my grandfather used to say "Oh, you'll be OK here. You've got a Woolies!"

Glad you're ok Vali. Well on the mend at least.
DG - glad you've sold the villa - that must be a weight off your mind before christmas.
Juliejim - nightmare about the tumble dryer. We can't used the wm and td at the same time or it fuses, most annoying.
Michelle - DH has just told me he's off tomorrow too. It's a great surprise isn't it.

Nothing else to report as i've just been watching tv. A few friends popped round to see me which was nice. Shattered now even though i've done nothing. Think i'll stay up until DH gets back from the shops. It might be worth waiting up for a tasty snack!!!
  • Pigpen - glad you got the order sorted
Greenbee - sad news about your Grandad, thinking of you, your Mum and your Grandma
Valli - glad to hear you are feeling a bit better
Mudbath - sounds like your DH is being a star - he'll also hopefully appreciate you all the more when you are better
Hugs and get well wishes as appropriate

Need to sort my list now, I'm doing a good headless chicken impression at the moment and being as effective as one
Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board

Evening lovely ladies and any gents still lurking

Another busy day at the office (not :D ) when I could have been at home playing catch up. I did spend some time this morning having a read of fred but since then theres about another 10 pages I've missed so I really hope that all those poorly recover in the next couple of days, those with grumpy/grouchy/miserable other halfs/hubbys etc get the kick up the jacksy they need and all the over excited kiddies calm down a bit to enable mum to finish the preparations so that we can all enjoy the festive season.

Downstairs is beginning to resemble something representing normallity with a bit of festive cheer thrown in, and the trees are all up and decorated. Anyone any ideas on how to put up cards to look good as so far they are in a heap on the table apart frm the immediate family ones. We usually have them strung up round the edge of the room but as the ceilings are so high they look really naff.

I did manage an hour of wrapping again earlier so at least when my little bro (all 6'5" of him  ) comes tomorrow my nieces are done. As for DD she will be lucky if she gets anything because she will not tidy her room but the attitude towards it is worse than the not doing it. Threats of reducing the number of pressies are just met with "so"

Well I have to update spends again then try and fit in another hour of wrapping so update then I'm off again for a bit

Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • Kaz - a bit late for a card tree like mine this year, but I've also used bluetack and fixed cards to the doors, or you could staple them to lengths if string or wool then suspend those strings from picture hooks, or another length of string across a wall. Does that help at all?

Saw some gold and silver pegs for card hanging in BHS but did not buy them as they weren't reduced unlike lots of other stuff.

Valli - have you ever thought about having treatment for your peg obsession? Though I guess you're almost in recovery as you didn't buy them.

I think you'll find Pegs Anonymous under PA in the phone book :rotfl::rotfl:
