Weekly Flylady Thread 22th December 2008

I'd like to join in a HHC, but it takes me longer than that to get motivated, lol.
I have finally demolished my floordrobe & have found the bedroom floor & £3.56 in small change, so that's a result, I still need to vacuum upstairs, but first I will have some lunch & write my a shopping list for tomorrow.
The gammon is cooked, so it's gammon egg & chips for tea tonight, an easy option as I have no idea what time hubby will want picking up from the station.
I have far less excuse than most of you for having a messy house, there is only hubby & I as all the children are grown & flown. But I do a lot of extra jobs on top of my 'proper' job. I don't do any housework throughout the week & do it all at weekends. Hubby used to say to me 'Why don't you do a little bit every night instead of leaving it all to the weekend?' Then he spent a week working as a caretaker at the same school I work in, after the first couple of days he was saying 'Now I know why you fall asleep every evening when you come in from work' He now realises I spend all day on my feet, keeping equipment going & running from one area to the next to keep everything on schedule.

It'll do. The whole room needs redecorating but it is only emulsion so won't take long.. and this time I am having the kitchen and bathroom washable paint NOT matt emulsion!! Problem there is it is a mixed colour not an off the card one so it means shopping around.. I may choose a slightly different colour though..

There is burnt fat still on the ceiling and wall which I will be scrubbing off in a bit.. and hubby can mop the floor cos my back hurts.

They cleaned the windows too and the sills so it is actually probably the cleanest now it has been in a very long time! I threw out a binbag of carp which they were here too just junk that was lying about and on the sills and cupboard tops etc.. fling fling fling!

Binmen coming on Saturday so hopefully I'll be rid of all the christmas rubbish sharpish!

I have the cupboards under the sink to clean out and rejig then I'm sorted.

you are very welcome to join us!! Your house didnt get in a mess overnight so dont expect it to get tidy in a day! After a couple of weeks flying with us loonies you will see a huge difference - apart from being slightly imsane your house will be tidy!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Normally we have a different room everyday but as its Christmas week the list will be a bit different! anyway something new is added every day by our illusytrious leader pigpen and do what you can - try to read the very first post as it has all the abbreviations and instructions - dont beat yourself up when you have a bad day - we all do - remember babysteps and post what you did do not what you missed - there is no such word as 'failure' on here. the support and encouragement on here is brilliant. Welcome to the very slightly mad house!:rotfl:

pigpen - does that mean you are getting food before thursday? thats brilliant! The paint thing is difficult when its a mixed colour but at least the place is ready for painting and a lot of extra cleaning done that you would have put off probably - hows the cooker - does it work ok?

hugs pollybear - you will miss her but she's close enough to visit isnt she? and you will have to help her get into flylady routines too. It will make the times you see her more special.

Not until tomorrow... and hubby has to go into the store and pay for it.. but I don't care... I could cry.. but I won't because htat would be stoopid..

cooker... hhhmmm... it scares me... I keep making hubby do the cooking, or rather turning the oven on so I don't have to.. and if someone makes toast (in the toaster I will add) and I smell it I have to go check on it... the cooker.. not the toaster... I have completely lost it!

Tomorrow will be better.. I will know WHAT is being replaced and WHEN it will be done

Oh.. did I mention I am getting new blinds for my kitchen too? They nicked them earlier!
