    Lmao.......you and I both xx

    Does it get easier.....parenting???

I am exhausted....but maybe its that time of year!!!

**standing herself up and brushing herself down***

Just gotta get on with it:)

I could lie and say yes it does get easier but I'm not like that... so...

NO!! it doesn't get easier.. they get bigger ruder more demanding then into different trouble.. and you worry about other things.. their studies, pregnancy, drugs, violence, alcohol, crime... etc.. you worry they'll get in with the wrong people and get hurt.. you worry because you don't know where they are 24/7.. BUT..

You also know they are still your babies and that you will love them and protect them no matter what they bring home.. mine has brought home so much in the last year... and he has probably hugged me more in the last 6 months than in the last 6 years!! and told me he loves me.. without alcohol inducement on a whole host off occasions...

I think the teenage years are natures way of forcing us the untie those apron strings and let them go.. rejoice them! .. and find an alcoholic beverage that doesn't give you a hangover in the morning!!!

RANT ALERT.... feel free to stop reading now..... its nothing compared to everyone elses problems but I'm going off to bed with my vodka cranberry to sulk....MIL has upset me something rotten today... had to call at hers to pick up a wreath to lay at where FILs ashes were spread while we where there she gave us our chrstmas cards from her and rest of family... when i got home this evening i opened them with OH and was cooing at all Sarahs 1st Christmas ones... SIL got us a lovely "Brother and his girlfriend" card too and wrote a lovely message in which i was really pleased with!! Then got to MILs card... "to my Son and his FIANCEE" plastered all over the front!!   MAYBE im just being sensitive today but its really upset me :( She knows the engagement is off... so why buy that?? Except to rub salt in wounds... AND even if she already had it before the break up then why not get a new one?? (Not like she paid a fortune for it, i know cos she left the 99p sticker on it  ) .... URGH... does she not even think??? I have shoved it behind the curtain on the windowsill so only the "Son" bit shows..... :(

no--- that is a step forward... maybe she has finally started seeing you as something other than the person her DS lives with and as a family member!! It's taken her long enough... ((((hugs)))) I hope he is still being good to you! In time it might be back on.. it is only a piece of paper don't let it upset you... I'd burn it.. but I'm just mean!

  • pigpen huge squishy hugs hun !!! I think all your recent 'traumas' are catching up on you making you feel so bad - all the illness, carp at school, kitchen fire etc etc - it will def be a Christmas to remember but for the wrong reasons at the moment!!! I hope you manage to sort out the grocery debacle in the morning - if you get your money on wednesday could you go and physically do a shopping then? Or what about your food allowance can you get an advance on it?
It is really not fair what is happening to you -I take my hat of to you for being so brave and coping so well - you desrve a medal for the brave face you put on!

It is usually new year disaster hits.. just a few weeks early this year I hope.. or else the new year hit is going to have to be a whopper!!

I don't know what is happening on Wednesday.. the loss adjustor is coming on Tuesday so as far as an advance on the food allowance goes I have no idea.. I will be asking though because I just HAVE to have food.. my cupboards are bare.. I have nothing.. not a thing in one of my freezers and the other has food in 2 drawers.. inc 3 half tubs of ice cream! I have had to throw all the opened stuff so there isn't a huge amount left..

I have potatoes!! I sent hubby for a big sack of them yesterday.. so it is spud and mash tomorrow lol.. no gravy though I used the last today lol..

Life isn't fair and there are people everywhere in the world so much worse off so in a way I am very lucky.. it was my cooker that was lost not my house or my children or fluffy animals.. or even my fish.. I have a roof and if it comes to it I can go raid my mothers freezer (or Trikers... and I know where Ashia and jayjay live so they may not be safe either lol!!) we won't starve.. the majority of my present shopping is done and those who aren't done are old enough to understand under the circumstances.

Enough of the 'Miss World' Slop.. I am off to my nest before I start praying for world domination peace and start wearing pink!

mumoffour, thinking of you, I am sure your DS will think a little more in future, empathy doesn't come naturally in children, especially to boys, but I am sure with you on his side he will become a wonderful young man x (PS loved the note to Santa!)
Johanne, maybe she bought it a while ago? I sometimes buy mine a year in advance. Pigpen might be right, could be she's acknowledging you as a family member. However if she's anything like mine (and plenty of others WILs) ignore it, don't let her get to you ;) Mine doesn't buy us cards, I think she might have once (well no her mother bought them), or the kids, Christmas or Birthdays. They don't even get a phone call.
pigpen, one thing I do remember from when DP had his car crash is when pushed the insurers see to it asap, we threatened to take action with the governing body if they didn't send the cheque for the replacement car seat asap and it arrived the next morning. They don't like complaints or bad press.
I think this is still the correct people to contact http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk have a read through your policy which should tell you what standard of service to expect. Phone them, get the small pinks to phone them, just keep pestering them!

Right, well anything else can wait until tomorrow. I have tidied all the cards and put them all on the card holder. Tree looks awful as we've been using the heater too close to it, oops, lesson learn't! Aswell as sorting more of the house, I need to brave Metro Hell, I feel queezy at the thought, pigpen will check their Disney Store, just incase (but aware people have said they aren't in stock/discontinued)

First job of tomorrow (after walking Luke) - Post Flylady cards! That gastly post office woman is going to love me with all of these envelopes on a Monday morning :D

Good night you wonderful people xxx
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200

OH has been busy flying and will do more this morning whilst I'm out, I did a bit too! As soon as I'm back with the car he is off to pick his Mum up. I then have 24 hours to get sorted here - spare room, where I work and she will sleep, is a tip with papers and files everywhere so it is that and Pigpen's list - thank you.

For all those who are not going to be online - have a Happy Christmas, hope it lives up to expectations, everyone is well and you have fun:xmassign: :xmastree: :santa2:

Pigpen - good luck with Tescos
    Mumof4 - hugs
Lil_me - don't think you are going to be popukar at the PO!! Did the second envelope arrive?
Best crack on with my work for the morning
Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board
  • OK - done quite well, got OH some birthday presents

Did some ironing :j :j (so proud of myself)

    wrapped all bar 2 presents

Started to gather stuff for OH to pack.

    Did all food christmas shopping.

Don't be jealous of the heat, we are in the middle of the wet, it pours every day and the humidity yesterday was 96%!! We are going to Adelaide so that we can breathe! It is really uncomfortable here and we would love to be cold and put the heating on, ooh a real fire would be lovely.

OH finishing work early today, hmm - what jobs can I give him?

Love to all - so many of you sound so fed up x x

Morning everyone, not been a great night here as hubby has gotten no sleep last night, thank god he'll see the doctor today.

Right cuppa first and then get the kiddies up, i most be mad going near shops today.

    mumoffour and pigpen big hugs.
Johanne don't let her upset you, i think it is a positive thing and that she excepts you as being her son's other half. You never know what the new year will bring.

    Kettle on.....
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Morning everyone:hello: Anyone miss me?

The last few weeks have been very busy, stressy and tiring which is why I haven't been around that much. I was supposed to be at work this morning, but my boss gave me an early Xmas present on Friday and said she'd do it so I have the day off.:j:j
Having skimmed the thread, 7 pages already  seems that some of you are having a tough time to. So :grouphug:.

Well I have mountains of stuff to do and only today and tomorrow to do it in, oh and a tiny bit of Wednesday morning. Not a single present has been wrapped:eek:In fact I still have a couple of presents to get:eek::eek: And no food shopping has been bought either:eek::eek::eek: So a normal Xmas so far then:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Lots and lots to do today. Mount Washmore is at epic proportions and I think I have the start of the colds DS and DD have had over the last 10 days:rolleyes:
Anyone want a :coffee:? I'm having my second one to get me going, I hope.
