I just boil them up in a saucepan, scoop off the initial scum and leave them there to stew for a bit (usually about an hour). I don't find the smell bad at all - just like turkey smell but a little earthier... Otherwise, I guess, you could try microwaving them if you don't need the stock - the smell would be short and sweet then!
Ooooh - that reminds, I forgot to take the chicken livers out of the freezer... will do that nowI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
