I love Skipton and it is very busy with tourists, even at this time of year ,I am a friend of Skipton castle and so go and visit often for a cup of tea and cake and I have a narrow boat moored in the town it is a great place to visit and right on the edge of the Dales.
This week alone we will be losing 3 shops Ponden mill ,woolworths and Hamiltons a [ladies clothes shop] last 3 months the toy shop ,a cafe ,the china shop ,3 clothes shops and a pet shop ,even in the last recession i cannot remember losing as many shops.
What does friend of Skipton Castle mean ? do you get discounted entry?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
