It wasn't always on topic though, Gen wrote.
The trick with rabbit stew is to add a little fat otherwise the meat goes dry. Streaky bacon is good for that.
Off topic is different to nasty. An offtopic diversion and a joke are not te problem, are they? its the bile and rascism as I read it. We could all do with less bile.0 -

I agree with that but it didn't save the fun, 'do you know anyone famous' thread from banishment to the penal colonyAnyway I thought they had those racist threads in the Arms.

Here we go, you have to give clues to see if we can guessMrs Moneypenny got cold feet when we got too close, although some one guessed correctly in the end, I thought it was funny when she said she was embarassed because they were posting pictures of her daughter on a site she was on.

I made it clear right at the start of that thread that I am just a housewife.

I am away for a couple of days, being forced to play unpaid tax gatherer by an under employed civil servant, and this blows up. What is more the thread criticising behaviour on here gets locked before I get a chance to comment:
I have no problems with the "Economy" threads being available to signed up members only; the speed with which I get automatically signed off is frustrating, but I still seem to be able to carry on reading, so no problem there.
However this country and possibly "Western Civilization" is on the cusp of a change that may change our outlook on life more than anything, since perhaps the declaration of war in 1939. The change has already been faster than even most of us here on the "doom and gloom" (formerly "the nutters") section of the forum were able to forecast. This part of the forum deals with the BIG issues that will effect our lives over the next generation. Some happy little consumers who were living an a la la land of fractional banking and parallel banking systems, find the "reality" of some of the opinions expressed on this section of the forum very uncomfortable.
I too have crossed swords with some of the posters BUT I subscribe to the classic liberal view that has given our western societies a level of FREEDOM that most societies can only dream of: "I disagree radically with what you say, but I am prepared to die for your right to say it".
I just appeal for fellow members to search for an existing topic before starting a parallel thread and please no more "ad hominem" attacks, however much of an idiot you think the other poster may be.
John.
PS: Well done those posters who identified the "unbelievable" events, such as the failure of General Motors and the fall of several prominent politicians for "snouts in the trough" arrogant attitudes to the rest of us.
Now how do we get his thread back on the topic of bailiffs and their place in enforcing civil (staying too long on a parking meter) and criminal debts (wilfully failing to pay your taxes (including your TV licence?)).
Did I understand from the TV clip that the government has passed the forced entry clause BUT then failed to implement it?
It seems to me that there are far too many government powers being kept "in reserve" only to be activated to be used against inconvenient minorities or protesters.
PPS I have always thought the "Misskool" does a good job given the pressures involved. It is nice to learn that she (?) comes from a different heritage from mine. I've always been a bit bothered that few of the "demonised" minorities seem to be able to step up to the bar and defend/correct the accusations made against them. We are all citizens of this troubled world.0
